the keys to the game was points from turnovers. 26 points from TO's for BG. 8 for the Huskies.
Great game and a great win!

Very impressive win considering the way NIU shot the 3. I would love to avoid that team in the tournament.
Ali with 23 and 16

I can almost guarantee you that the casual visitor is going to take that the wrong way...
Heckuva game today! Every time I see this team, their collective talent is unbelievable. NIU fans have a LOT to look forward to with that program, and it was clear why we were all nervous going into this game. It was great to see BG never let up, though.
36 straight in the MAC? Are you effin' kidding me?
GO FALCONS!!!!

Yeah, I've always care about the delicate sensitivities of the casual fan.

Nice win! I caught the end of it on FSN. The Lady Falcons are looking strong. I hope they don't fall in love with Ali Mann on the inside all the time. She can't use her size against all teams come NCAA time! Like last year against UCLA....

it was a nice win and all......but did anyone notice how pissed Curt was after the game? He looked like he was going to blow a gasket. I can think of a few things that are eating at him. 1st....they got VERY sloppy in the last 5 or 6 minutes looking more like a disorganized rec. league team than a top 20 team in the country at times. 2nd......they shot 3 of 8 from the line down the stretch and that's unacceptable....especially as games become more important and the leads are smaller. 3rd.......I think he's getting fed up with getting 18-20 point leads and pissing them away down the stretch. I'm sure he'd like to see them extend those leads instead of allowing opponents to chip away at them. Not to mention...any team is going to shoot the 3 well when they are completely unguarded which was the case on the majority of the 3's that NIU made.
They will play better teams than NIU, Ball St., or Toledo down the line and they will not get away with missed free throws and sloppy play when those games are played. Now, as they get back into East division games, is the time to get things tightened up a bit and start playing 40 minutes of ball the way they are capable of playing because if they don't, it's going to bite them right in the backside.
Guess I forgot to drink my kool-aid before the game and I wound up watching it like a coach rather than like a fan.

greg1 you are not wrong. We HAVE to put teams away.
But in the positive column-
1. We did not let NIU get a big lead and have to fight our way back. We had a MUCH better start and first half.
2. Ali Mann said on TV that the Coach is great about seeing who is open/hot hand and running plays for them. Because they are unselfish, it can be any one of them. Today it was Ali. She was fierce.
3. I hated the 3 ball from NIU also, but on the other hand, BG did not allow them to drive the baseline as they did Toledo. They were forcing them outside, which resulted in the 3's. We needed better D on them- but they were not driving inside or along the baseline. When you keep them away from the basket and they get hot on 3's- that is tough in my book. But we can't let all those 3's come raining down either.
4. Jaz played MUCH MUCH better today. She used her quickness in control and looked like a different player than the TU game. I was really impressed with her effort.
We are where we are because our team/Coach is not satisfied just to win. They all
want to improve. We have to fix the things you mentioned to plow through the NCAA.
Roll on FALCONS! Great win on the ROAD!!!!!

One way to get rid of that sloppiness is to get Breske or Bugher in there for a few minuets. One it allows the Ali and Flynn more rest so they don't get sloppy which could be a result of tiredness down the stretch. I didn't see a reason why Breske couldn't come in and get 5 or 6 minuets somewhere in there. Breske's got good hops for a girl and is a nice defender and rebounder. I hope Coach Miller doesn't rely on only those 8 girls alone and forget to get the freshman some time. This is about the time that they need to see more time anyway. Fatigue is whats gonna get us down the stretch if we keep this up.

Hmmm....every team out there is giving BG its best shot and the Falcons have withstood every challenge so far. NIU is a pretty darn good team. They will be a force in the tourney. Ball State is very good. BG BETTER move up in the polls this week.
Hosting the Zippies Wed night.
GREAT WIN FALCONS!!!! BEAT AKRON!
