As much as I'd have liked to have seen them keep the streaks going, I am not really upset with the loss. Something has been "pinging" in the back of my head that said they should lose a game before they hit the tournament. They haven't been playing their best ball the last two weeks and I sensed they were begining to feel the pressure. I think this loss takes some of that pressure off.
Now they can win big this week in a very emotional final game at home for the seniors. Then win the MAC Tourament. They are still the team to beat, but they can be upset.
The worst part of the loss is that it will effect their national ranking and ultimately their NCAA seed. Will find out how much tomorrow night when the ranks come out.

I've never subscribed to the "it's good to lose one before the postseason" theory for teams on long win streaks. Positives can arise from losing, but there is no way more positive can come from losing a game than winning it. Especially with us, where one loss can affect a possible NCAA seed. Duke just finished a perfect regular season....would it be beneficial for them to lose in the ACC tournament? I doubt it. The longer you are seen as invincable, the better, but that's just my opinion. But I agree, I really hope this team grows from the loss and plays with frustration and more determination to accomplish all of their goals. I really can't wait until Wednesday....the loss hasn't changed that. GO FALCONS!
