Fired or retired?

The scroll on ESPN last night said she "retired", doesn't quite look that way.
Interesting quote from Curt - "I'm very happy at Bowling Green, but I owe it to my family to listen to opportunities," Miller said.
Hmmm.

It appears that if offered, he would be gone.

I don't think it's nearly that simple.
I'll go on record as saying I don't think Miller will be coaching at Michigan next season.

I tend to agree...I think the gender issue would really hurt his chances at Michigan. The Birkenstock and granola crowd would go ape if they hired a man to coach the women's highest profile sport....even it they couldn't tell a basketball from a ....I don't know...something that doesn't lok at all like a basketball.
My head?...no that's not it...

Hmmm.
I found the back half of Curt's quote to be even more interesting for a number of reasons that I don't have time to discuss right now.
"I'm very happy at Bowling Green, but I owe it to my family to listen to opportunities," Miller said.
"But usually, men coaches aren't on the tip of athletic directors' tongues for women's basketball."

I have heard him and numerous other male coaches (including Jim Foster and Gino UConn) make that same statement many times.
If it is true, then I think Suzie Merchant would be a leading candidate. I also think Sylvia Crawley at OU would be a good candidate.
The talk is about Curt, but what about Jen and/or Brandi?

I would have to think Miller is contacted often about Jen -- she will make a very good head coach someday. I do think she'll have to pay some dues as a head coach at a smaller gig before she comes anywhere near a job like Michigan.
If Miller does eventually decide to leave, I hope to God Jen is still here to take over. It would be a pretty big blow to lose both of them. I think Jen will get a head job somewhere else before Miller leaves though.

Hopefully we can keep Brandi. We wouldn't want transfer to get free fries that often...

OK -- we'll solve two "problems"
Curt become BG's men's coach and Jen takes over the women's program.
Have at me folks.

Sounds like an excellent proposition to me!

The proposition of Curt Miller coaching the men's team gets dumber every time I hear it.

LSU's coach resigned today unexpectedly.
Maybe we should just have a Curt Miller madlib thread?

What if we just had a
WHAT IF? thread? As in:
WHAT IF women's basketball players staged a coup and overthrew the United States Government? Would they make Curt Miller their king?
That might be fun, too.
