I thought she was out of control but if you want to pick nits it looks like Achter's right foot is not set.

Riley drove me nuts all day- first off she carried the ball every time she touched it, and secondly she was very 'giving' with the elbows and jaw-flapping. I wanted to punch her a little bit, I can only imagine what Kate wanted to do to her. . .

It was something.

Hard to believe there was no call on it. In this case, it worked out; BG got the ball back on that.

That photo captures the game though. It was rough out there.

Ok, maybe not a charge, but look at Riley's left hand! She's got a death grip on Kate's arm. Even if her foot was not set, that hand is a foul on it's own.

I was only answering the question "why it wasn't a charge" I wasn't answering the question "why wasn't a foul called on Riley."

Contact has already happened. Maybe Kate's right foot was planted when the contact was initiated? Look like a chrage a full speed to me and the photo only confirms this in my opinion.

Just because I feel like being a douche, if her foot was planted it wouldn't be moving laterally (left-to-right) it would be falling back like the rest of her body.

At the very least, SOMETHING should have been called. I felt the refs were failry consistant letting a lot of physical stuff go. They allowed some bumping on both ends. Perhaps this benefited the Pokes since they come from a more physical conference.

And if you wan't further proof, check out pic #3 in the BG Photo gallery on the bgsufalcons.com and look at Achter's face. She looks as though she had a run in with some thugs on the wrong side of Detroit.

I just re watched it and it was close, but it was a shot clock violation anyway. There were a bunch of other calls that were far worse. My favorite was when Hood (6-5) knocked the ball out of bounds from over her head under our basket, and the official said Kate (5-8) knocked it out. Kate couldn't have knocked that ball out if she was on a stepladder. Ref was 2 feet away in perfect position staring right at it. I can't for the life of me figure out how he missed that one.

Some of the calls I that I thought were BS from the stands, were indeed correct when I watched the replay. Still bad, but not as bad as I thought.

Was it me or did OSU try to out "Muscle" the falcons with some dirty tactics?

Wasn't you -- the elbows and other dirty plays were in the double digits easily. They were getting away with it though, so it was "smart" dirty play.

They tried. But you just don't mess with this FALCON bunch. The elbow to Ali's chest looked over the top to me. Scary moment. I thought OSU was over the back of BG quite a bit in the first half.

Riley is a punk. Reminds me an awful lot of Malika Willoughby that played at Kent. Had she kept her mouth shut, she wouldn't have cost her team two very precious points with that T. I was just so happy and relieved BG won. Cry me a river Riley.

BG FALCONS....OHIO's BEST team moving on to the 2nd round! :-D

ROLL ALONG!
