ESPN News is scrolling BG/ASU on Saturday at Noon!
Why make the teams that finished on Tuesday (today) turn around and start next week o9n Saturday? With travel that makes for a very short week for BG and Duke. Other teams get two days extra rest and prep.

Since the game is on Saturday, BG will be flying down Thursday to have a practice that day and most likely a walk-through practice on Friday.
As long as both teams are playing under the same conditions and rest time, I have no problem with the early turn around.

In that case, bullshit.

It's won't matter - 4 days off vs 5 days off?

it's kind of a wash. ASU's extra day of rest is offset by having to travel across the country 3 time zones away and having to play a game at 9am by their body clocks.
ASU is good.....but not as good as Vandy was. All BG needs to do Saturday is play their game and they should win this one.

You are assuming ASU went all the way back to Arizona. Thursday is a travel day so they got back to Arizona mid-day today? All that for a day and a half in your own bed?
BG will get back to campus late tonight...in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. Tomorrow will be mostly a day of rest for the team while the coaches scramble to get game film of ASU and develop a game plan.
Thursday is travel and check-in in Greeensboro and maybe a walk through of the arena.
Friday is parctice on the main court and press conference.
Saturday is game day at noon.
Not a lot of room in that schedule.

I'm not assuming anything in terms of ASU going back to Tempe.
I know as a fact they went home. They chartered home late last night after their game. How do I know? I spoke with my mom on the phone today and she was making fun of the local news channel that sent a crew to a dark airport to show the team arriving. That reminds me...I need to call her and let her know that BG is the opponent. She's a BGSU grad. lol!!!
If BG has any kind of a basketball staff.....and I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that they are top notch, the "scramble" for game tape began this morning. Their gameplan for Vandy was already set and they knew who the opponent would be if they won...which they did.
Since you want to talk about assumed schedules for the rest of the week......I'll take BG's over ASU's for another reason. BG can stay busy and focused. Not much down time to really sit and worry about the task at hand. ASU had a full day of sitting around waiting to see who they would be playing.....having to split their time game planning for 2 opponents and probably spending more time on the higher seeded Vandy team. Time spent that is now wasted.
You won't hear any other school headed to the Sweet 16 (men or women) bitch and moan about 1 less day to prepare. I'd like to think this school isn't going to be the one and only that makes an unnecessary stink about a non issue.

Not raising a stink, just pointing out how hectic the schedules are this time of the year. BG just went only 7 players deep for two hard fought games. Our point guard played every minute of both games. If I had the choice of getting an extra days rest...a would damn sure take it.
I have no doubt Coach Miller and his staff will have them ready on Saturday afternoon. This a chance of a lifetime and adrenaline will cary you far beyond your body and minds capabilites.

Who's going? I'll probably be there, probably in the Duke section. Not sure if I can make the elite 8 game if we win.
