Geez... Curt's bonus potentials look pathetic compared to the rest...

And we wonder why Curt Miller might consider taking another job. Folks, that bonus scale for Miller was disgusting and I would hope that he moves on to better his life financially and earn the money he should be earning. $2000 for making the national title game??? Come on. Get real.

We don't pay our coaches jack compared to the rest of the MAC, much less the rest of the NCAA.

Frankly, I'm a bit ashamed to see that spelled out so clearly in black and white in the McPaper.

Having a clause of paying $2,000 if you win the nat'l title reeks of small-time mentality. It's similar to a $0.05 per hour raise.

This may come out the wrong way, but so be it. Given the history of the women's game in the NCAA, I doubt that contract was put together with the belief that a MAC team would make it that far in the tournament. It is clear from the dollar figures expressed in that chart that winning conference championships was the focus of both the administration and Miller when the contract was agreed upon. Nationally, I think people recognize this. What we are doing is absolutely unprecedented. Additionally, you will note that contracts were not even available for Giorgis or McKeown. I wouldn't be surprised, at least in Giorgis' case, if he doesn't have incentives built into his contract.

At this point, having obliterated any and all realistic expectations (at least at the time the contract was put together), I wouldn't be surprised to smell smoke coming from Christopher's office as he burns this contract and writes him a considerably larger bonus check. No matter what happens from here, Coach Miller has established himself as one of the greatest coaches in the history of BGSU althletics. He should be, and I suspect will be, compensated as such.

Of course that's the case. So you leave it blank, then subsequently compensate him accordingly for any such accomplishments.

But Miller signed it, so I guess he didn't think it was all that silly. Plus no one gave a thought to how it would look publicly when it was signed.

Miller might have known EXACTLY how silly it would look.
