Just to get Falconboy started.....

Michigan State head coach Joanne McCallie is evidently going to be the next Duke coach.

Will
MSU come looking at Curt? Would Curt go to MSU? After all,l they do have a good program up there.

See you at the banquet on Sunday!

I'm gonna do a little moderatin' here and add a "?" to you title.

Hope you don't mind...but I really don't want this thread to get ugly.

Didn't want to be the one to start the thread, but now that it is up and rolling.....

This was the job I think Curt always had his eye on. Took a little longer than expected to open up, but now that McCallie is gone, wouldn't be surprised to find Curt first in-line.

And for those of you who are going to jump all over me and say, "but he signed an extension!!!!"

See Michigan State.

MSU going after Miller wouldn't surprise me a whole heck of a lot. I'm sure their decision makers were impressed during the first two rounds of the tourney in their building. Miller coaching there next year would surprise me. It would be a good opportunity for any coach though, so we'll see.

At last report it wasn't "officially" signed extension. Any update on that?

Could it be that they are in agreement "in principle" yet there is no official signature?

This could get interesting if the extension isn't signed yet.

I don't know if Coach Miller will be at MSU or BGSU next year. I can't stipulate either way. I talked to quite a few coaches this past weekend at a tournament this past weekend, and some were surprised that he didn't get the UM job. When it first opened up, everyone was talking about him being the one that they wanted. But there some other factors that I don't think are appropriate for me to mention on here. I hope that the factor in question doesn't affect his future opportunities. It would be a shame along with a bigotted issue to keep him out of consideration.

If what I'm thinking you're talking about is the reason he didn't get a job, then that is just one more reason for us all to hate scUM.

Wasn't it Dick Van Patton who said "You label me, you negate me"?

Isn't that what Gillsepie did before he bailed A&M for UK?

Here's the way I look at this: Miller is in a great spot right now. Bowling Green really is a great place to live. Gary Blackney -- when he was in his prime -- once told a reporter he didn't even bother to lock his car doors when he pulled up to the stadium in the morning to start his work day.

It's that kind of town -- rather the opposite of playing shortstop in Yankee Stadium -- and Miller is the toast of it right now.

I don't know Miller. But I sense appreciates what he has right now and isn't going to just give it up unless it's an absolutely great opportunity where some intangibles also fall together.

In that sense, I don't think he's thinking about his career quite in the way that Urban Meyer did.

I'm not saying he won't leave one day. But he'll probably be choosy, and I think we are already seeing some of that.

Bowling Green alum, and previously a part of BGSU athletic department (forgot her title-associate AD or something like that) Shelley Applebaum is the senior women's administrator in the athletic department at Michigan State.
