Penn State hired a Notre Dame assistant. Kentucky hired the head coach from Moorehead State who never had a winning record in his two seasons as HC. He was an assistant at Tennessee.

UK's new head coach was an Assistant coach with Mickie DeMoss for two years before take the Morehead State Job. He was responsible for recruiting the current seniors/juniors. Not sure if he was an assistant at Tennessee, UK did interview a Tennessee assistant coach as par of the search.

I'm lukewarm about the hire.

Curt's theory about male coaches getting overlooked for jobs by AD's is taking a hit this year. LSU, Arkansas, Louisville, Michigan, Cincinnati and now Kentucky are all BCS schools who filled their vacancies with men.

Let's hope Michigan State breaks the trend.
