"These numbnuts" had it posted at 1:56pm yesterday. At least that's what my feedreader tells me.

Does mac-sports.com have an RSS feed then? Cuz I'm sure I checked bgsufalcons.com yesterday like I always do with out fail and they mentioned nothing of it. I also have a women's basketball rss feed from bgsufalcons.com so it would've alerted me if they had announced it. I honestly rarely check mac-sports.com. Maybe I'll have to more often.TG1996 wrote:"These numbnuts" had it posted at 1:56pm yesterday. At least that's what my feedreader tells me.

I was going to start this thread when I got out of my 4pm class, but this works as well. Listened to most of the broadcast on 88.1, and here's what Curt had to say about the freshmen class.
Tracy Pontius (PG from Illinois) - Curt said she is unlike any PG he has ever had here, by that she can shot it from long range. Said she could spell Kate so Kate can play at the 2
Lauren Prochaska - Curt said while she is known for her offense, she is also a great defender. Curt thinks the wings in the MAC will have fits having to deal with the defense of Prochaska and Lindsay Goldsberry
Bianca Hooten (Wing from Canton) - Curt says she is in the mold of a Carin Horne, and it'll be fun to watch her develop over 4 years
Crystal Murdaugh (Forward from Dublin) - Curt said she has been great during practice and could be a 3 or 4. Thinks that at the 4 she could give the other 4's in the league fits. Also said she could start from day one
Jennifer Uhl (Forward from Wadsworth) - Curt said she has been dealing with mono and hasn't been on the floor for all the practices
Kelly Zuercher (Center from Orrville) - Curt said that she is the enforcer, and like Hooten it'll be fun to watch her develop over four years
Chelsea Albert (Center from Michigan) - Curt said that like Murdaugh, Chelsea could start from day one.
As for the preseason polls, as I expected OU is the favorite in the East, with Ball State the favorite in the West and the favorite to win the tournament. Here is the rest of the poll (mac-sports.com doesn't have the number of votes up yet):
East
1. Ohio
2. BG
3. Miami
4. Kent
5. Buffalo
6. Akron
West
1. Ball State
2. Northern Illinois
3. Eastern Michigan
4. Western Michigan
5. Toledo
6. Central Michigan

Considering everyone we lost from the MAC's best team ever, a 2nd place preseason pick speaks volumes about Coach Miller and the staff and the program they've built.
I like the idea of Prochaska joining Goldsberry out on the wing. Goldsberry should be the MAC Defensive POTY.
This is gonna be a fun season. GO FALCONS!!!

I love this time of year! We had our big superscrimmage today in Dallas, and I can't wait for the regular season to start. Ohio and Akron were down recruiting the kids today. There were a lot of DI's from all over, but those were the only two MAC schools I saw. I wasn't surprised to see Akron there because of Coach Kest's past at Corpus Christi, but I was surprised to see Ohio. I don't remember seeing them recruit Texas before, but I could be wrong. There were three kids from Toledo playing today, so that could be partly why.
