Falcons beat Oilers 61-46......

Post by Falconboy »

Whitney Taylor back off a knee injury scores 17 pts and goes 4-5 from 3 land. It was nice to see the ladies back in action again. The team is young but have tons of potential. It honestly was weird going into halftime with such a small lead as well for most of the game till late in the 2nd half. You get really spoiled after watching Ali Mann, Liz Honegger, Carin Horne, Thorbun and Amber Flynn for 3-4 years.

Okay some observations. Whitney looks completely healthy and as quick and fast as ever even with a knee brace. Coincidently Breske is off her knee brace and is moving better than ever. Lauren Prochaska is real long and lean. Got many deflections and blocked several shots. She has a real nice outside shot as well, hit 2 3's. Murdaugh is very athletic forward. Played the 4 alot tonight. Got to see a lot of Pontius at pg with Kate at the 2. That back court lineup could be very interesting if its used much.

Chelsea Albert started at C and looked pretty decent. Overall, our D was pretty good at times. Offense just needs to come around , but will get better with time. Kate didn't really attack much tonight , seemed content to let the freshman get acclimated to playing Div.1 basketball. Our first regular season game vs Valp this Fri. will be more telling.

Thanks for the recap! Sounds like Taylor is ready to roll. There will definitely be growing pains this season and we'll need patience....but the potential is sky high!

BTW, according to the Blade, Sarah Clapper reinjured her knee???? Waiting for an MRI? That sux. Hopefully it isn't serious.

Noooo!!!! Please, nothing serious I hope. I was wondering why she wasn't out there. She didn't look injured , was in street clothes, had no wrapping on or anything. Hope its really minor.

Falconboy,

Breathe easy. Take it slowly,

Inhale........Exhale.......Inhale......Exhale......

Let's see the results of the MRI before we begin our usual "The Sky Is Falling" routine.

Inhale........Exhale.......Inhale......Exhale......

That's better.

transfer...deviating from his usual "GO PANIC NOW!!" routine might be more upsetting to fb's psyche than pushing that big fat panic button in the middle of his forehead.

There is no panic here. Just a lot of concern. We'll miss a great bunch of outside shooting if we lose Clapper for any length of time but it won't "kill" us by any stretch. I just wanna see us a full strength for once. Seems we've always 1 person go down with something. Last year it wouldn't have mattered much with 5 seniors playing but this year it will hurt a bit.
