Future Falcon Setting Brisk Pace in Shelby County

Had another opportunity to watch future Falcon Jessica Slagle in person today. Her Lehman Catholic team won handily over a good Ft. Loramie HS team on the road.
Jes had about 12 points, but scoring is not what you notice immediately about this player. She is an excellent ball handler/passer for a 2G/wing. She is exceptionally quick with the ball and jumps very well. Her athleticism is very evident. She certainly makes others better and her team plays well together. Jes plays very hard.
Several sequences stood out. She leaped high for a rebound. raced down the floor, split two defenders, rose and drilled a 15 footer. Twice she penetrated and used no look bounce passes for easy lay ups for the Cavs.
Any high school player has quite a transition to college ball such as the strength needed etc, but I think this player has a very bright future in orange and brown.
Go Falcons!

As an alum of Lehman Catholic, it makes me proud that we are still producing athletes like her. When I was there it was Volleyball, now it appears to be women's bball.

Ff1,
As always, thanks for the updates on future Falcons. Slagle sounds like she could be quite a player.

Strouse, be proud of Lehman volleyball too! They have been very, very strong in recent years. Their top player the last two years has been a first team all state player- future Falcon bballer Jessica Slagle!
Just a tremendous athlete.
There will be a transition of course, but I think she will make all the Cavalier fans proud over her career at BG.
Go Falcons!

I'm liking that Miller has been snatching these great athletes who've played v-ball in HS as well as basketball. Take Tara Breske for instance , probably the most athletic players we've had play in a Falcon women's uniform for basketball. It takes great athleticism to play V-ball so that translates well to basketball. Again, I have this feeling that Slagle will eerily remind us of Kate.
