Congrats to former Falcon Jacki (Raterman) Stonebraker

Post by doughash »

Jacki coached her Versailles team to the D-3 state title with an 18 point win over Sugarcreek Garaway in the final after knocking off perennial power South Euclid Regina in the semis.

Noticed a couple other BG connections at the girls state tournament. Carly Lichtensteiger, younger sister of Kory, was a key contributor for Convoy Crestview who lost in the D-4 semifinals to Columbus Africentric. Alex Dackin, daughter of former BG quarterback Rich Dackin, was the team captain for Lima Bath, who lost in the D-2 semis to Hathaway Brown. Rich is athletic director at Lima Bath.

Good stuff, Doug. I grew up in Dover, and Garaway is about 20-30 min away down Rt 39.

I met Kory's sister on the USS Alabama down in Mobile in Jan...Seems to be a very athletic family.

Rich Dackin was a pretty good QB...one of the few bright spots during the fun Moe Ankney years...he put up some BiG time stats.

Freak, your right about Dackin. He had some nice games throwing to Heard and Thornton. They were both very good receivers. Both drafted as well. Those teams under Moe under performed. :(

Tiz,
No doubt. Moe could recruit with the best of them...he had some great talent. Moe's problem came on game day...he simply wasn't a very good X and O coach. With the talent Moe had, we probably should have won a couple titles on his watch.
