I was just looking at the roster from the web site and saw that Bianca Hooten and Crystal Murdaugh are no longer listed there so that means we will have 5 new FR on the team nexr year. Too bad that those 2 left though

Is this for real? Why would Hooten and Murdaugh no longer be listed on the roster? Anyone know anything?

I was told by a reliable source during the season that Bianca may not be back, or at least they suspected she may not, but the Murdaugh thing caught me completely by suprise. Maybe she saw her minutes being diminished by Niki coming on board, but other than that, as famous German said, "I know nothing!"

This has been in the works since Jennings left. My understanding is that there was a larger number of them (freshman) in the beginning that all wanted to leave. After Jennings left, some decided to stick it out to see if things would get better. Obviously they did not for the two young ladies that left. I wish them well, your college experience should not be a miserable one. Everyone has to do what they feel is necessary for their own well being, and you also have to live with the decisions you make. That makes three girls gone now, makes you wonder.

What exactly is it that you're implying about the program? I know some of the girls were put off by Taylor's intensity at one point, but other than that they seemed like a pretty cohesive and strong unit this season.

I was wondering the same thing, Niz. What exactly is it that this is supposed to "make me wonder"?

Hooten didn't go to the Iowa State tourney family situation I think. This could be the reason for her departure. Murdaugh also took me by surprise. The fact that Nikki is now eligible could have cut Crystal's minutes--maybe she saw this. As someone else said you must do what you must do to live with yourself. Your decisions make your life. How we feel about what has happened makes no difference to the situation. We must get behind those who remain---CHANGE is the only constant in life.

None of them were put off by Taylor's intensity as far as I know. I'm not implying anything, I know for a fact there were alot of things that were going on there that should not have been, some basketball related and some not. Like I said before I wish all the girls well, rather they stay or go, but they need to do what they feel is necessary to be happy.

Absolutely. The most recent players who have made it through four years of the program seem pretty happy with their situations. I'll start questioning things when we stop winning MAC championships every year.

I could see Hooten leaving with not having much playing time this season, and the idea the grass is always greener on the other side. But Crystal really shocked me to see her take off, she had the athletic ability to be a stud(ette?) in the Mac (Tara like with her strength, size, and speed combination.
If this is the case, I do wish these ladies the best in their future endeavors, even if they in the MAC still (save when they play BG!

Well, the roster definitely reflects those two being gone. My take on this is I'm not really shocked by Murdaughs departure but am a little on Hooten's. She was just beginning to come late in the season showing what she could do. I have no other insight into whats going on but maybe she too saw her mins going way down with who we have coming next year. Is the talent of our incoming freshman that good that they believe that they won't see much time?
Murdaugh all season has been playing out of position and is really a slasher 3 guard/forward not a true 4. I could see with the huge log jam we have at the 3 position what she was looking at if she wanted to succeed here. She tailed off considerably towards the end of the season and it was plain and obvious that the 4 isn't her position. So with McCoy coming in , Clapper , LP who plays the 3 in some lineups I could see where she might think her mins were numbered.
Was the chemistry not totally there with the team? I must admit that this is becoming a slightly , ever so slightly disturbing trend in recent years. When Patrice whats-her-name left(Goldsberry's class) , it didn't really bother me, when Jasmine left that was more surprising but wasn't too miffed about it , when Jennings didn't even make on to campus that disturbed me a bit more. Now this and I'm starting to wonder just a bit about what may be going. I don't think for a moment our days as a powerful program slipping in any way with Coach Miller at the help but this just gives me a slight uneasy feeling. It'll be interesting to see what Miller does here in the spring. Does he try and sign some players to fill those spots or just leave them open till next year? What can he reasonably expect to get talent wise this late?

Does Niki get an extra spot with the double kk or is she just that good that she can play both guard and forward at the same time?
