Its amazing to me that programs like BC and others continue to pass Curt by and go after coaches who have achieved far less. I am not complaining because I hope Coach Miller stays here for another 30 years.

How does Michigan State pick Suzy Merchant over Curt? How does BC pick Crawley over Curt? Don't get me wrong, Suzy and Slyvia are both solid coaches...but how long can they ignore what he's done here?

I realize that the trend is to hire women head coaches for women's programs, but this is unbelievable. I also really think that some people still aren't totally sold on Curt...they think he is doing it with mirrors and gimmics. Maybe they wonder if he can coach more talented teams? Plus, are there now questions about his coaching relationship with African-American players?

He can coach at my school any day!

I think ONE person has raised that issue here, have there been others? Completely agree with you on everything else though....

Don't forget that BC is a private Catholic college. There may be hesitation to hire a male coach for women players.

I think a lot of the BCS-type schools will hire a female if all other things are equal or close to equal, Michigan State last year being a case in point.

I thought it was a travesty that Curt wasn't offered the job at MSU. All he did was win two NCAA Tournament games in their arena, with more fans there than any other school (except MSU, of course). AND, their SWA is a Bowling Green native.

As a Curt Miller fan, I hope he rises to the pinnacle of his profession, and gets all of the accolades he so richly deserves. As a BGSU fan, I'm selfishly glad he remains our coach, and I hope he stays here until he retires.

A big factor here is the fact that Sylvia Crawley played at North Carolina, and then coached there for two years. I believe that has as much to do with it as anything. Part of it might have to do with the idea of her being a woman, but I think a bigger part has to do with her ACC ties.

Curt will have his chances if he wants them down the road. I really get the sense that Curt is happy with where he is and what he is doing right now. He is quick to point out that his staff has stayed together longer than 52 other schools in a five state area, he has a tremendous potential for the next three years or more on his roster, and he is getting paid a pretty good amount of money to stay. I just get a feeling that money isn't Curt's biggest driving factor. Being in a "BCS" conference isn't always what it's cracked up to be. Job security and winning are more important to some people. It's the right situation.

Agreed! I selfishly also hope Coach Miller stays for a long time. He and his staff have done such a fantastic job. Coach has built a mid major powerhouse and THEE best program in the state of Ohio. With the Stroh Center opening in a few years? :D This ride is gonna give us plenty of thrills for years.
