Kent Game Thoughts

I made the icy trip down to Kent tonight and the Lady Falcons didn't disappoint.

Down 20-7 in the first 7 minutes of the game, the Falcons outscored Kent 38-15 the rest of the half to take a 45-35 lead in the locker room.

The Falcons really struggled with Kent's 2-3 zone the first ten minutes of the game. It was actually the bench that sparked the come back. Jessica Slagle and Chelsea Alberts were my players of the game. Alberts replaced Breske who got in early foul trouble. Chelsea did an outstanding job on Kent's big center Kowalska.

Slagle was amazing for a freshman. She replaced an erratic Pontius and ran the offense with the moxie of a upper classman. She had some very nice assists driving the lane and she nailed her jumpers. It looks like Curt has found another great fit for this program in Jessica.

Curt went ten deep in his rotation and the depth really paid off as we wore Kent down. He has a lot of talented players to choose from. I wasn't that impressed with Kent. I think we'll face tougher opponents in the MAC this year.
