Hurons 4ever....the trip to Ypsi

We just got back from the game and dinner. How's this for an experience?
I couldn't get comps, so I expected to have to buy tix for the game. No so :-) I got a "senior citizen's" freebie, a free program, free parking, and the popcorn was not only fresh, it was $2. Now let's see...Anderson $10 parking, $2 for a "program" 2 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 paper stuffed in a folder that has ads inside and a picture outside, and $3 for a stale box of very salty popcorn. The free ticket was a bonus.

I'm thinkng of becoming a "Senior Citizen Hurons" fan :-)

The EMU Convo is still not a bad place, the president's box is about the equivalent of the first row of seats in the upper decks in AA. I don't know what the unused upper part of the bowl cost, but the extra space would look great for one BGSU commencemnt instead of 3.

Now if the MAC schools would just recruit some star players in the Men's and Women's programs..maybe we could even fill up some place. I see OU got nearly 11K for the men's game today.

I know that OU has been pretty good in men's hoops for several years now but still nearly 11k for a inter-conference Mac game vs a barely .500 BG team is shocking. Does anybody know what OU is averaging?

I'm just guessing part of the reason AA is more expensive is because people are more likely to show up and actually pay that much because they support the teams more at BG. Our school is getting low on money lately as well (they've cut back campus food hours quite a bit to help too)

don't really want to hijack this thread into a MBB thread, but part of the reason OU almost hit 11K was because it was "Dad's Weekened" at OU.

The loss was Ohio's first home loss of the year in a game that will likely serve as the Bobcats' best attendance of the year. With the University celebrating Dads' Weekend, attendance was listed as 10,988, almost 4,000 more than any other Ohio home game this year, but the Bobcats lost at home for just the second time in the last 23 contests.

$10 for parking might be a bit much, but parking is at a premium in the area of Anderson Arena. There simply is way more demand than supply.

I do find it odd that they're charging $10 for parking at AA for women's game and still only $5 for football as of last year.

They don't charge $10 unless you want to park in the PRIME lot that some of us donate $$$$ and pay for a parking pass, and still can't get in the lot at times. You can always park behind the health center or music building.
