East Division Player of the Week

Tracy Pontius, Bowling Green, So., Guard, Morton, Ill. (Morton)

Pontius exploded for a career-high 31 points as Bowling Green rallied for a 76-70 overtime win at Northern Illinois in the Falcons' lone game of the week. She led all players in points, assists (five) and steals (three), and added three rebounds in a career-high 42 minutes of action and was 5-of-7 from three-point land, tying her career best for triples made. She scored BGSU's last eight points of regulation, including a layup ad a three-pointer in the final minute as BG rallied from six points down with two minutes left.

Congrats Tracy on I believe her first Mac POW award. It was pretty obvious though. :D

Congratulations to Tracy. This was pretty much a no-brainer. She is really proving to be a clutch player.

The evolution she's undergone since the start of the season is quite remarkable. She's gotten better every game it seems.

I also like the fact that, as reported in an article in the Sentinel today, she is taking on a vocal leadership role. I have always thought that having the PG being a leader is important.
