RPI/Top 25 Polls 2/9

The AP poll comes out later today, and the ESPN/USA today poll is out tomorrow. To recap, we had 3 votes in the AP poll last week, and we had 12 in the ESPN poll, putting us in 28th nationally.
It'll be interesting to see if the writers start to give us any respect this week following two more wins, one of which was a quality win over Ball State. As far as the ESPN poll goes, I noticed that #22 Vanderbilt and #25 Depaul lost this week, so it's fair to say that both will probably fall out of the rankings. The team that would be #27, Gonzaga, lost this week as well. So realistically, if the coaches were impressed with us enough, we could reach #25 this week, vaulting ahead of Vanderbilt, Depaul, and Gonzaga. Another mid-major power, Middle Tennessee State, would crack in one spot ahead of us at #24. The question is whether we'll get enough of a boost to get past Vanderbilt. At worst we'll be 26th. Just something to think about for Tuesday.
Our RPI today is 49th, the first time all year BG has cracked into the RPI top 50. Two games against RPI top 100 opponents (Kent & Miami) remain, so reaching the top 35-40 is certainly within reach so long as the team doesn't get tripped up by anybody not named Kent or Miami.
