WHO WILL START - NIKI OR JEN?

I'm curious what kind of ruminations there might be out there in Falconland about the upcoming starting lineup at Akron?

Jen had great outings with Western and Toledo...........but was benched rather quickly this past Saturday in the Central game and didn't have near the minutes compared to the previous two outings........hmmmmm.......was that foreshadowing perhaps?

We all know that Coach Miller will make the best decision, but I just can't resist wondering what might be going through that mensa mind of his. (Besides the obvious "it would depend on how practices go this week." )

Oh, to be a fly and be buzzing around the room during some coaching staff meetings this week to catch "the buzz!"

Well for one early foul trouble didn't help Jen out vs CMU. Though Niki is back I think you start Jen. Niki did something really stupid, she served her suspension, and now I think she needs to come off the bench for a game or two before returning to the starting 5

What he said...it doesn't make sense to start someone who was just suspended for three games for dui (or whatever they call it now)...especially since we've been having some wonderful success with Jen. I fully expect that Niki will have to come off the bench for the next couple of games, then I'm sure things will be re-evaluated after that as far as who starts and who doesn't.

Wonderful success? We got pushed to OT by a crappy team. I agree Niki shouldn't start right away, but lets not pretend we didn't miss her.

At first against Western I got awfully nervous without Niki out there. I think now her suspension has pretty much been a blessing in disguise. We've seen players grow over the course of three games and become solid contributers and comfortable presences on the floor. Without the suspension, Chelsea probably would still not be ready to put up quality minutes like she did against UT and CMU. Uhl has been a great replacement also. While not as effective as Niki, its great to know that the depth is there.

We got to see Breske contribute more which was awesome! Did anyone else know until Thursday and Saturday how great her pull up and fadeaway jumpers are? She absolutely skies when she makes those moves and drills them 90% of the time.

I say Jen gets the start, if for no other reason than we get to watch these younger girls keep getting better every minute they're on the floor.

Bugher was even contributing on Sunday afternoon, she's been pretty quiet in her time here until then.

Remember, this WAS the first game without Nikki...and adjustments needed to be made rather quickly. I think Jen has done very well in the starting role, deserves at least another start against Akron, which is also near HER home, as well as Nikki's former team. That said, I trust the coaching staff to make the right decisions...they've haven't missed on many so far this year have they? ;-)

Jen gets the start...she is making the most of her minutes even with less minutes vs CMU.

Niki is a playa...and was doing very well until her mistake. IMO, she needs to work her way back to the starting role. We definitely missed her but Jen did a great job...and should get the start.

Is she hurt?

Two players missing from the lineup on Sunday: Zuecher and Giese. Is Maribeth hurt? They got 2 and 1 minute and neither one was in rotation.

I know the game was close all the way,l but I'd like to see both of them in game situations.

Ahhh, the luxury of having so many talented players :-)
