BG is now NIT Bound.
Tough way to lose the last game. Not sure why BG didn't call time out when Pontius was trapped in the corner. Now let us just go win the NIT

I am hoping for a bid, but I think we all know what tourney we will end up in. Great seasons it sucks that to get into the show it relies on 3 games.

While my guess is that we are going to the NIT, I do believe we should be in the tournament. I just did the research, and we deserve to be in before S. Florida, Minnesota, S. Diego St., Villanova, Boston College, and probably Rutgers. Forget the conference affiliations, these teams don't have wins that would I would say are deserving of a bid before us, and they all have losses that should hurt their chances. These are all teams that Mr. Creme has in before us.

UGH. AGONY. HEART-WRENCHING LOSS. I can only imagine what the team is feeling.
THREE games in three days. That's tough for ANY team - - did you notice how tired BOTH teams were? Tracy must have had leg cramps - they showed her being worked on by the trainer.......
Oh well, on a brighter note - Niki McCoy had awesome, consistent, big-time numbers ALL three games of the tournament - hence her first team selection.
On a dimmer note: Did you hear the TV announcers mention that the team kept looking at the "Cavs" rim before the game started? They thought it was crooked. Double ugh. Talk about planting seeds of shooting doubt even BEFORE the game!
On a brighter note yet: Congrats Tracy on MVP! We LOVE ya!
On a still brighter note: Let's raise some MID-MAJOR ruckus in the WNIT!

I'd call it being objective and a realist.

Indeed. Tracy being tired is of course attributed to her playing nearly 40 mins as McGowan wasn't used much in Slagle's abscence. I knew that having Slagle out with injury would hurt us but didn't realize how much. Having a tired pg running the show is never a good thing. I think that may have worn us down. Losing this sucks big time and I'm sure the ladies are pissed. Time to go after the NIT championship. Next year we are even deeper with 4 more coming in.

Well... being as close to the floor as I was, I can tell you with a certainty that Curt was trying to call timeout...we just didn't have control of the ball when he was trying to call it... He tried calling it like 5 times the whole time the ball was loose and then ended up bouncing on LP's head. Tough loss, but I think the fact that the game was as close as it was, there is a possiblilty we could end up dancing. Granted it would be a 14-16 seed, but I would take it over the WNIT any day... Oh and don't even get me started on the officiating...

All I know is those last 30 secs or so was the worst played by BG that I've ever seen us in crunch time. Yeah, I'm praying for a gift from the NCAA Tourney powers too but deep down I know its not going to happen. I believe someone said before that our SOS and RPI were higher one other year we didn't win the Mac Tourney and we didn't get in that year.

I don't know what Creighton's status before today was, but they lost to 15-18 Evansville in the MVC title game. If Creighton was ahead of us in line, that one hurts.
Expecing WNIT, but I'll keep an eye on the NCAA selections just in case.

Creighton is not a team to worry about jumping us as an at-large potential. That game doesn't bother me.

Huh. And people say I'M the pessimist.
We'll just see how "realistic" this premature call is tomorrow night.

Then Coach MIller is a presumptuous bastard too. He said the same thing in his postgame press conference. "I think we desrve to be in the NCAA tournament, but I think we all know which tournament we are going to be in."

We can complain all we want about how we should get into the tournament, but the bottom line is that we couldn't get it done against Miami or Ball State in the conference tournament. The mark of a great team is a team that wins the ones it's supposed to and wins some they aren't supposed to. We didn't get it done, and whether we disagree or not, BG is going to the NIT
