I really don't like our chances in this game now that Lauren is more than likely done for rest of BG's playing days this season. Simply put our best chances to win are when LP is scoring and playing well. We didn't win the Mac Tournament cuz LP was ice cold. If LP doesn't hit that 3 and start slicing to the basket pick up those fouls and make those FT's we dont' win this game period. Clapper won't be able to do everything LP does especially at the rebounding end. She can give us some good outside shooting and we must hope that we can get her open often Thurs to have a chance.

We unfortunately have just become more predictable now and easier to defend. I hate to sound like the alarmist that I know I'm sounding like but this is just my thoughts. It would be an unbelievable feat to get by IU even on our floor without LP. I was thinking originally during game that if we can get past Syracuse we would have slightly easier matchups in the next game vs either Dayton or IU as I don't believe either of them have the combo of size and athleticism that Syracuse had. Not to mention I'm worried about Pontius's stamina as well with Miller deciding not to play McGowan at all.

I'm also very surprised that Zuercher got no time in this game at all. Even though our bench may be deep with bodies , it won't matter much if we aren't using them. Luckily for us the WNIT has a lot more time between games than the Mac Tourney.

Scouting IU a little bit , they do have some nice wins in the B10 conference but no wins over OSU. They beat Ball St. 84-68 in the pre-season WNIT but lost to Xavier and MTSU. They have a couple of girls over 6'1 but don't appear to have a plethora of athletic "studs" like Syracuse. They do have 4 Sr.'s though and so will be more experienced. We will need monster games from McCoy/Pontius along with Breske and hopefully a breakout game for Clapper too.

Can you for once STOP being optomistic. Wait until the news comes out. BG has won 19 in a row at home and Curt will have the team ready to play. If you have already packed in the season then stay home and don't come to the game, unless your in the area then just come to the second half! Sick and tired of your negativity![/b]

Hey, if anyone can formulate a plan and a scheme for us to win without our best player Curt Miller can. We are capable of getting big games out of McCoy and Pontius to make up for LP's likely absence, I'm just saying, the job just got a whole lot tougher with all the things LP does for us from the 2 guard position. She is starting to exhibit slashing ability along with her stellar 3pt shooting, something we don't have in any other player cept maybe Slagle who unfortunately is also out. Things that are in our favor is being at home. I do hope Miller plays McGowan some so that Pontius isn't running ragged out there for 40 mins again. She has to be frickin' exhausted both on the offensive end and guarding SU's athletic guards.

I have to like our chances, especially when we are playing at home. Do NOT underestimate how much playing at home means to the girls. GO LADIES!!!

BG is undefeated at home this season. I have to say our chances are pretty good.

Her name really does lend itself to sounding good over a PA like that.

And yes, I am in for one of those evenings. Whether or not LP is in the game (which I sincerely hope she is), any one of the Falcons having a big night is a good thing.
