Great video.

It almost pained me to hear Coach Miller say a couple of times that they felt they let down the community though. I can't imagine there being a single person who feels let down by this team this year.

The real question is how much longer can BG keep a gem like Coach Miller around? I know we have discussed this at length before, but I would imagine that other schools will be expressing interest in such a quality coach soon.

True, sadly, but I think the construction of the Stroh Center can help keep him around. Also, I don't see him as a coach that will leave for the highest bidder. He has been at BGSU for 8 years, he stayed even after making the Sweet 16 2 seasons ago, and he has huge support from the fanbase. I think he loves this school and won't leave unless he gets an offer from a Rutgers/UConn/Tennessee class of school that will pay him huge money.

Curt's program also hasn't reached its ceiling yet, so there's still a lot of quality work to be done. The fact that he's got the team to where it is in the standings every year, yet it still feels like it can achieve much more, I can't imagine he'd leave for another few years yet, if he did at all.

He's starting to bring in transfers from bigger schools, too, so BG womens basketball is a pretty sweet gig to have right now.

I hope Coach Miller follows the example set by Mark Few of the Gonzaga men's program. Over the last few years, he probably could have taken any open head coaching job he wanted, and as his predecessor did, but instead he stayed to build the program from a mid-major power to a team that could contend on a national level with any program in the country. That is one of the true models of success in the mid-major ranks

Thats the model I hope Coach Miller hopes to emulate as well. He is well on his way. With us picking up BCS conference players in transfers now and getting more talented recruits each year we are on the cusp of being a Gonzaga of women's basketball.

I don't think that ANY women's BB fan in BG would ever want Curt to go anywhere else...but the comparisons to Gonzaga (and others for that matter), are a bit unrealistic in this way....almost all the "mid major" BB powers have something in common that we don't.... Basketball is THE sport on their campuses....don't think that the Zags, for example, even HAVE a football team, though I've never really looked it up.
Why is this important? Simple really... more funding into fewer sports, especially a comparatively inexpensive sport like BB, can make it easier to recruit higher profile kids... Agreed that Curt's recruiting (and his staff) has been excellent...but I'd still like to see a true 6'3", 6'4" center who can PLAY come to BG... Someone mentioned in an earlier thread on this...re: Casey Nance, Larry Nance's 6'4" daughter, who picked Dayton over BG...if we'd have been able to get her, would we have lost to IU? The "shot blocker" in the middle can be an imposing threat to PG's who like to drive to the hole.

Don't be too sure she "picked" Dayton over BG.........she went to Dayton, but...........? We recruited her, yes, but........... (I'll leave t at that)

Right on, Gonzaga does not play football. The last time they had a team was 1941.
