Lauren is listed as a candidate for women's POY, although she's listed as 3rd.

Also of note, the BG News seems to think UT men's coach Gene Cross has earned consideration for women's COY with his 1-15 record.

Something appears to be amiss here.

That is based on, I think, the likliehood that UT's men's team would have been in the race for the Western Division had they played against MAC women's teams. I'm not saying they would win but a top three in the West would certainly have been within reach.

PLEASE! Tell me that the person from the BG News DIDN'T just look at the women's stats to determine their "picks".........

There is NO WAY that Kourtney Brown from Buffalo will be chosen as the MAC Player of the Year! Scoring stats don't tell the entire story.

The IMPACT a player has on their team must be considered, and no offense to the Bills, but while Ms. Brown is certainly an impact to her team as an individual, it has NOT translated into any IMPACT the team has had versus the rest of the Mid-American Conference teams.

I could even can write an article for the BG News if all it took was copying and pasting the statistics from the conference web page. PLEASE!

AND - - - Jodi Kest would HAVE to be mentioned in the COY award for her team's school-record setting season......here, the statistics do NOT lie, and yet....where is the mention of Jodi Kest in the BG News article!?

I know it's a college newspaper article..................but PLEASE!!

Re: Lauren as a "possible" POY.... she was named Player of the Week again, this week...her FOURTH time this year... not sure if any of the other mentioned ladies can compare to this...
And honestly, while she hasn't seemed as dominant this year as last...was she not also hit with Mono early in the season? This can still take its toll on anyone...think we had another player out for the season because of it did we not?

I didn't know that the Bills were so bad at NFL football they decided to drop down to the college level and field a women's hoops team

Much as I would love Miller to get Coach of the Yr again, I doubt he will win it. If that's the case, the coach who really deserves it is Kest. She has built that program the right way.

As for player of the year, I think Prochaska's got as much of a chance as anyone. Her numbers are comparable to anyone else's, and she is the best player on the best team in the league.

I would guess that Osborn from Miami will win freshman of the year, although if you only saw Akron's 2 games against BG, Rachel Tecca would seem to be a candidate for NATIONAL Freshman of the Year. :D
