i believe it was a fluke and it won't happen again and if it wasn't a fluke than why didn't they beat us at the Mac Tournament ?

Teams split series all of the time. The more evenly matched they are the greater the possibility. Toledo had a good team this year, don't under estimate them.

it took them 7 years and 13 times to actually beat us! it was a fluke and won't happen again!

Toledo is a quickly improving team with a solid head coach and an athletic department determined to make the team champions. That being said, I would have a very hard time believing Coach Cullop is as attached to UT as Miller is to BGSU. Miller's had interest and I believe offers from bigger schools, but he's chosen to stick around. I am not sure if the same could be said about Cullop if a Big 10 school came up with an offer. If UT continues to win the west division and challenge BG for the conference title, I expect that we will find out soon.

When you diminish he achievements of a rival, you take away a good bit of the satisfaction of beating them. Toledo had a good team last year...no shame in losing to them on thier court. Beating them in the tournament wouldn't have been as satisfying had we beaten them earlier.
Frankly...I hate the rivalry when one or both teams suck. I want to see our athletes beat them when they're at the top of thier game....

So what's to say that after 7 years and 13 tries of us beating them straight they end up beat us again? How can you know they won't beat us next year? As it's been said above, rivals split series all the time. Maybe you're right - maybe it was a fluke. After all, it's not like our team to only score 3 points in the last 10 minutes of a game. The point is Toledo won. It happened and nothing can change that. As much as I didn't like them winning that game, it made beating them in the championship that much more satisfying.
You can't deny that they're a good team - see their season stats @
http://utrockets.com/fls/18000/stats/wb ... amcume.htm.
Just to throw a few out there - 42.8% FG, 36.3% 3-PT, 71.1% FT. In fact, the only categories they didn't "win" against their opponents are turnovers and steals. A lot of them return next year. They will continue to be a huge force to reckon with in the next few years.

The rivalry is back! This will not be an easy series for a while.
