Just noticed that Jessie Tamerlano is no longer on the women's roster, did I miss an announcement?
Also noticed Maribeth Giese received a red shirt. Glad to hear she'll get that year back.

Jessie is transfering to a smaller school, I believe in PA, from what I heard.

Re: Roster Question
Ugh, that is rather unfortunate as I was getting excited to see this girl mature here. Tough to see really talented player leave after their freshman season. Wonder what the deal was. Projected playing time shouldn't be been in question in my mind.factman wrote:Jessie is transfering to a smaller school, I believe in PA, from what I heard.

Gannon, I think. Went to the D-II Final Four last season. Lots of other NE Ohioans on that team, too.factman wrote:Jessie is transfering to a smaller school, I believe in PA, from what I heard.

Re: Roster Question
Good luck to Jessie...hurts to lose the depth, but if she wants to pursue other opportunities, that's her prerogative.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: Roster Question
It is not a problem her leaving, but a problem when she leaves so late that you cannot replace her. I hear we turned down several transfers earlier beccause we didn't have a roster spot!

Factman: assuming that this is true...but also assuming that transfers have to sit out a year, should that have made any difference? (Other than wanting to be "loyal" to the kids YOU'VE recruited)...

Re: Roster Question
The difference it makes is that the "transfers" ended up going to another school.

Re: Roster Question
Well, I sorta got the scoop second hand, but ya gotta work to be on the team, and that's both in practice and in games.
At Gannon, Niki McCoy's sister is a Sophomore and don't forget, Jessie can play immediately if there's an opening. I guess she'll find a place there.
I wish we could keep all the players we recruit, but sometimes that just doesn't happen..of course I wish we could keep Tamika another season and maybe Kate Achter and Ali Mann for a 5th season, but that didn't happen

Re: Roster Question
It'd be a shame if this were true. But, just because this info (Tamerlano leaving) appeared on this site a few days ago, that doesn't mean it just recently happened. She might've told the coaching staff she was leaving in April, or May, or June.factman wrote:It is not a problem her leaving, but a problem when she leaves so late that you cannot replace her. At any rate, I don't think her absence will make a huge difference in 2010-11, but it sure woulda been nice to have her as a junior in 11-12.

This makes it official but don't give any reasons.
