Well, at least we have a coach who will dish out the proper punishments. C'mon ladies, you're better than that!

The really sad thing about this is one of the kids hasn't even STARTED playing ...but the other two should have known that Miller doesn't "appreciate" this kind of behavior...or weren't they conscious of a certain former Akron player who got bounced 2 yrs. ago...

They'll learn pretty quick. I don't know if this warrants any kind of suspension or not but we'll see. Prolly first offense I'm guessing for those involved. Miller will get his point across in some way shape or form. At least they weren't driving.

They're damn lucky I'm not the coach that has to be up with them at O-dark:30 to do their punishment drills. I hate getting up that early!

Is this a DUI / OVI thing? Or were they arrested for walking around after drinking under age? Maybe I just don't understand the wording here.

Since all three were cited I doubt it was DUI-Pappenfuss is an Anthony Wayne grad-hate to see that happen to anybody but especially a local.

They were walking around, from what I understand. I certainly don't condone anything they might have done -- if they were drunk and not of legal drinking age, they broke the law and need to be reprimanded in some way. But, this is not as serious as the OVI situation of a few years back. It was more of a stupidity thing, rather than a putting-someone-else's-life-in-danger thing.

Drunk teen women out at 1:30AM are probably putting their own lives in danger.

As Urban Meyer used to say - "Nothing good ever happens being out after midnight"

Sigh. Here we go again. I guess they missed the "keep your name out of the blotter" speech.

I can (not) remember many a night walking? in INNER campus 3 sheets to the wind, but those were different times. We had 3.2 beer then :drinkers:
Geeze that was a long trip from Mac West to Conklin.....

From my understanding, it's not a DUI/OVI thing because they weren't operating a vehicle. It's "Underage Consumption."
Here's what I found on the subject: "The legal drinking age in Ohio for consumption of an alcoholic beverage is 21. Purchasing, possessing or consuming alcohol prior to your 21st birthday is a first-degree misdemeanor. The maximum penalties associated with this offense are six months imprisonment or a $1,000 fine or both. For example, a 20-year-old student, therefore, risks being imprisoned and fined when he/she decides to drink alcohol at a party or elsewhere."

Obviously, the crucial wording here is "the maximum penalties." Hopefully everything will turn out all right for them and the penalties will not be too harsh.

As my mother used to say you still got just as drunk and the answer is TWICE as many, but it works. Of course at 17 I *never* drank LOL
