Congrats Lauren for going over 2000 points in her career.
With her 28 points tonight she now has 2022 pts in her career and less than 100 points shy of the all time BG scoring record. If she could average 25 pts a game over the next 4 games she will break the record against the team up North.
Once again congrats Lauren!

Congrats Lauren...you have been a true gem for the BG women's program. Breaking the mark against tsun would be an added bonus.

39 points to tie Casey Rost from WMU for 11th all time on the MAC list.

11th place? Are you sure. Looking at the MAC record books as well as the game recap on BGSUFalcons.com it lists Lauren already 9th all time.
13 more MAC games, plus 3 more in the MAC tournament plus a run into the NCAAs should move Lauren into the Top 5 all time. Heck, if she averages 31.0 ppg she could be the all-time scorer.

Depends on how you look at it. I looked at all current MAC teams and their scoring leaders as follows:
2509 Kim Knuth Toledo
2500 Lisa Fross NIU
2449 Caroline Mast Ohio
2224 Carrie Moore Western Michigan
2144 Mimi Olson Toledo
2122 Jackie Motychka BGSU
2102 Carol Owens NIU
2091 Tamara Bowie Ball State
2071 Bonnie Beachy Kent
2066 Tracey Lynn Kent
2061 Casey Rost Western Michigan
2022 Lauren BGSU
2014 Amy Sherry Kent

I guess BGSUFALCONS.COM was incorrect then. Thank you MH. From the BGSU athletic website:
FALCON NOTES
* BGSU senior Lauren Prochaska now has a career total of 2,022 points ... she ranks ninth in MAC history, having moved past former Kent State standout Amy Sherry (2,014 pts. from 1991-96) in Wednesday night's game.
She should easily move into the Top 5 by seasons end.

I wonder when the NIU entries scored their points. It's possible that they're not included in MAC rankings if their careers came before NIU played in the MAC.

I just received this from former BGSU Athletic Director.... and MAC PR director, Allan Chamberlin.
(I'm paraphrasing)
The NIU scored their points when NIU wasn't in the MAC (so the BG release got that info correct)...
And....
Bonnie Beachy of Kent played part of her career before the MAC recognized women's basketball, so she doesn't qualify for the 2,000-point MAC club. Therefore, Lauren is 8th.

I LOVE being right. You'd think I'd be used to it by now, but nope, still love it.
