Just as Curt did when the Mann, Honegger, Horne, Thornburn senior class graduated he folowed it up with five freshman (Prochaska, Uhl, Pontius, Alberts, Zuercher).

They are now completing a stellar four year run and Curt once again is bringing in five freshman that will be expected to contribute early next year. Plus, add in the transfer from Duke. Program poised to keep rolling into the Stroh!

2011-2112 Freshman Class at BGSU
Deborah Hoekstra, Lansing, MI, (East Lansing) 5’10” G
Jasmine Matthews, Matteson, IL, (Marion Catholic) 5’10” G
Shanique Ogle, Lorain, OH (Lorain High) 6’0” F
Kaila Hulls, Bloomington, IN, (Bloomington South) 5’11” F
Logan Pastor, Uniontown, OH (Green High) 5’9” G

Alexis Rogers, (Duke University), 6’1” C

Rollo,

Hope you're right about this group...seems a bit smaller than the current Sr. group, but then we never seem to get that 6'3" girl anyway. Interesting thing that some folks may have forgotten was that this Sr. class ALSO had a 5'8" guard from Stow, who transferred to John Carroll before she ever took a class in the fall at BG...She's become the leading scorer at John Carroll, admittedly a D-3 program...but wonder how she'd have fit in depth wise for us had she stayed.

IF the woman who went to John Carroll stayed, who wouldn't be a Falcon today?
I like what I see coming in but can we just concentrate on what we have in this senior class now? :-k
I think they can go far.
As was stated in another post if all the Falcons are" bringing it", in their "zone", playing their role we could go on a roll.
When shots fall early & often, the ORANGE is there and the crowd is loud, it all works.
Let's extend this season as far as possible.
The future will become the present soon enough.
I want to keep taking the wraps off this "present". 8-)

The main question to be answered though in this is who is the girl in this group to replace Lauren's scoring? Remember, Lauren came in and picked up where Ali left off. Tracy fed off of Kate for a year and has then taken control herself. Which of these players will provide this program with those contributions?

Does anyone of these freshmen have to? How about a current player - like Chrissy Steffen? Chrissy has stepped up her game this year and will be our big point player for the next couple of years.

Don't know about all the incoming Frosh though I have great faith in Curt's recruiting abilities but Deb Hoeckstra of East Lansing, MI is having a great year. East Lansing is ranked #7 in the state, still alive in the tourney and the last stats I saw on Hoeckstra had her at 19.2 ppg, 9.3 rbg, and 3.0 apg. She scored 23 with 10 rebounds in her last tournament game this weekend in a tough win over Lansing Waverly.

+1 for transfer2BGSU
we have people on the bench that are virtual unknows to others
Can we let the future become the present when it gets here and stop booting the seniors out the door already?
They have lots more basketball to play. Let's allow them to play out their time ......Who knows whose eyes take in this forum

I agree. I like the was Chrissy has been coming along. My money would be on her "replacing" Lauren next year. But lets not even think about that yet!!!

I've seen Ogle play, she's a legitimate inside player who can create her own shot off the drive from about 15 feet. She's not very tall, but is...erm...wide...and uses it well.

I did a cursory google search to make sure I had the right Lorain girl in mind (they had 2 big post players), there are pictures of her playing volleyball, throwing the shot, as well as playing basketball. Clearly a very fine, well rounded, athlete and a great addition to the BGSU team.
