They have a killer halftime show.

It annoys me when any one player gets credit for not winning the game when s/he misses the buzzer beater. There were plenty of missed shots and missed opportunities before it came to the final second of the game.

I doubt it was gmartin's intent to call out Papenfuss but I tend to agree with your logic. It's similar to a kicker missing a last second FG that would've won the game but what about the other 59 min and 59 sec of the game? No one play really wins or loses a game.
At any rate, a tough loss but Creighton is a pretty solid team. 7-3 is still a fine record considering our losses are @Dayton, nationally ranked Purdue and @Creighton.
Together we attack!!

If his statement was "Pappenfuss made a three pointer at the buzzer gave BG the winning margin" would it annoy you? Different outcome but both contain simple factual information that lays no blame nor gives no credit.

I'm sure you're correct that gmartin didn't intend to call out Pappenfuss.
I also agree about the kicker missing a field goal. If the offense had got closer to the goal, he wouldn't be kicking so far, against the wind, etc. etc. etc.
h2oville rocket is also correct for questioning the logic. Of course the person who gets the last minute score that puts us over the top will always be considered a hero for scoring the winning point(s). (Lindsay Austin, 2004 Mac playoffs, comes to mind.) Win or lose, it's a team effort that got us to whatever the score is when 0:01 is left on the time clock.

No I wasn't calling anyone out. Next time if I say a wing player missed a jumper at the buzzer the first question out of your mouth would be. Who took the shot. Lol. If you think i was calling her out then you also need to say Coach Miller was calling her out in his post game comments, or the newspapers, or the tv stations. I guess I will just say BG loses 49-47. Time to regroup for Madonna and CSU.
And fwiw, the only person I will call out is BirdMan and Dustin. Lol

Go back & look at what Allison did during the game. Curt said she helped keep us in it & brought energy. That's her role. Just a case of lots of shots chipping the rim, in & coming out......roller coaster ride alittle down hill now pull up & go over the hill. Another time, a lesson learned, an experience which makes the team grow.
Pap's shot is like the one which turns on the light behind the goalie....Ooops wrong spot. what happened before that moment? It's passed, history.....affect the now & future.
