BG pulls out the win 62-58. I have not looked at the stats yet but we must have missed 20 free throws. We need to work on our FT shooting. Alexis was a beast today. I think she had 26 pts and 15 boards and we needed every one.

The following comments and observations have nothing to do with the game itself:

Does one laugh, cry, or cringe in embarrassment when the singer of The National Anthem loses his place and repeats some of the words?
Kudos to the crowd members who started singing at "the rockets red glare" and stayed with it until the end.

Does one laugh, cry, or cringe in embarrassment when the dance team has to wait while the sound people play the wrong song?
Kudos to the dance team for their patience and eventually pulling off a nearly flawless dance routine. Extra Kudos to the members of the dance team who can be seen singing along with the Alma Mater - very impressive!

Does one laugh, cry, or cringe in embarrassment when the team's self-proclaimed number one fan is shown on the big screen holding his sign but is busy texting? Kudos to the crowd members who were cheering throughout the game and not just berating the refs when they made numerous bad calls.

Does one laugh, cry, or cringe in embarrassment when after the game the parking staff won't let people turn left on Alumni Drive because there's a men's game later in the day?

Our number one fan was texting me a private message as I told him I am done trying to reason with him. My private message was timed at that exact time. He says he dont care about what we think of him but yet he sends me a private message. Lol. Back to the game, we won. And now are 12-3 on the season. Go Falcons.

Yes but we're 2-0 where it counts. That's 'cause the records get ranked 1-12 for seeds to MAC tourney. One & two move to semis, three & four play in quarters which means other eight schools must win twice to reach semis.......and win five times to "dance". Two wins for 1 & 2....three for 3rd & 4th.
Curt said nonconference was over after CSU game & team was 0-0. MAC is a whole different animal. With the results so far this weekend things are already interesting & making you think. There are more games today(Sunday) to keep scores/ winners/losers.
BG will take care of itself.........only team I'm losing my voice by cheering but charting results of competion as we go.
GO!!!!!BG!!!!!! BG ____ Roll Along!

I felt bad for the National Anthem singer. He's performed the anthem 3 or 4 times at women's games, and did a great job until yesterday. I think something happened with the volume levels that threw him off.

I don't feel bad for the dance team b/c their coach appears to be the most evil woman on the face of the earth. Perhaps I'm wrong about that, but I don't think so.

Does one laugh, cry or cringe in embarrassment when the Falcons are 2-0 in the MAC despite not playing overly well in either of the two games? Should we be alarmed that our perfect little team is perhaps less than perfect, or should we be happy that they continually find ways to grind out a win? I'll choose to be happy.

I'm fairly sure I worked for the most evil woman on earth, but that's another story. Even if their coach were the second most evil woman on earth, that gives me another reason to feel bad for the dance team. I have seen her go off on a variety of people. I'm still not sure what the situation was last night at the men's game between her and the photographer. What ever it was, it was enough to involve the manager of the Stroh, so it must have been a doozy.

I choose to be happy, too. Our team is less than perfect, and we probably notice it more since we've been spoiled by watching Loren, Lindsay, Casey, Liz, Amber, Carin, Ali, ... and all the other outstanding players we've watched over the past few years (I mean no slight by not naming all the names.) The thing is that some of these players were not only outstanding in their own right, but also part of outstanding teams that worked together, and they often deluded us into thinking it was effortless.

I think Curt, Jen, Brandi & Kevin have always striven to build TEAMS and not individual stars. Whenever any of our players have gone down with injuries, there's always someone on the bench ready to go fill in so there's no gap. I do believe this team will continue to improve since I see it weekly with Jasmine and Noelle, to name a few.

Again, we were spoiled by Loren, but her free throw numbers were exceptional, nearly in a league of her own. Still, I'd like to see the current team's percentages improve.

The game really was exciting, and it was great to hear the crowd cheering and chanting, even with out the loud and collective voice of the band.

Good to know that I'm not the only one who saw that during the men's game last night

Well make that three people. If we all saw it I am pretty sure dozens of other people did as well. I guess its a learning experience with a new arena.

Do you know what it was about? I gotta admit that the real game was kind of exciting while that was going on. And, to be totally honest, I was watching the game on TV when a friend texted me. I could get glimpses of it, though.

It was our first hoops game, men or women, at the Stroh. I've never seen a Curt Miller coached team miss so many FT's...but we shot poorly on 3's and FG's as well. Alexis has some SERIOUS athletic moves...easily the most athletic player on the foor. It was a struggle but Akron has played us very well lately...they are much better under Kest than they used to be. A win is a win and we're 2-0 MAC. This is team, IMO, isn't quite as strong as previous years but with only one SR on the team, we'll be fine. A fun team to watch...

BTW, we had no problems with any security or anything being said about the game day operations. And, we got a chance to meet Dr. Mazey for the first time...love that southern drawl.

Up next is Ohio at the Stroh Center Wed night...GO FALCONS!!! Together we attack...

+1
Her sense of self worth is through the roof and she has an attitude to match. Not a pleasant person to be around. This doesn't surprise me at all. I've seen her belittle people who were just there watching the game and minding their own business.

Hey gmartin just waiting on a response! But other than that a certain assitant coach discretly voiced her opinion of the woman and when i heard her say I about died laughing so hard, that being said I don't want to hear anybody criticising my opinions of some officials.
