HUGE game at Miami on Thursday

Post by gmartin »

Battle for first place is on the line Thursday down in Oxford.

Both BG and Miami are 14-3, 4-0. BG coming off a 20 pt road win at Buffalo. Miami beat Ohio by 20 at the Convo.

Miami is probably the most talented team in the MAC. They are good in every aspect of the game. Very well coached by Maria Fantanarosa and former UT coach Mark Ehlan. Miami has one of the nations current longest winning streak. Miami also near the top 50 RPI.

THIS IS A HUGE GAME.

I will make the drive over from Indy and pack my car with some of my friends.

Go Falcons!!!!

Completely agree! This will be the Falcons toughest road game the rest of the way. Miami has won 10 straight and is playing phenomenal basketball. Of course, so are the Falcons., so are the Falcons. 8-)

Once again hoping for good weather for all the travelers. BG contingency at Buffalo was loud enough to be heard on the broadcast, but there will be more of us at Miami.

Yes I know that, I'm going home to Cincy for the weekend on Friday, if I didn't have to work Thursday I could go a day earlier and see the women play at Miami

Wasn't that at Miami one year when the cheerleaders had to stand in the aisles until the team scored except that the team didn't score before their first time-out and they had to get down on the court to lead cheers? I daresay Falcon fans will outnumber Red Hawk fans, with BG SUE leading our cheers. Fans who wish to remain quiet and seated the whole time - there are plenty of empty seats at Miami.

Miami drew 1440 last week for a game. They are 14-3 and 4-0, I doubt we out draw them in attendance this time.

Especially since they've designated this game as a "fill the house" game!

I just looked at attendance figures for Miami. They have only had 1 game where they had attendance of over 1000. It was the Iona game where they had 2034 there. When they played Buffalo on 1/7, 425 people were there. When they played Kent State on 1/11, atendance was listed at 506. Their average attendance this season at home is 597. Even if they do make this the pack the house day, do we really think they will draw lots of fans? The crowd at Miami has traditionally been pretty quiet. We may not have more people there, but we certainly will make more noise (at least I hope so). Go BG!!

Thank You!!!! I will lead cheers......need others to help with the volume I also help others who start cheers.
we usually have a decent number of people in the stands clad in Brown & Orange
expect that to happen again on Thursday
some have rearranged schedules, taken off work, are sneaking out early......whatever you need to do 8-)
DO IT you have a couple of days to pull it off :-k
There will be a BG contingent & cheering will be heard.......'til I lose my voice or the clock reads 0:00 whichever occurs first
It's always a war when the "family feud" takes place Falcons/RedHawks so why would this time around be any different?
The team knows what's going on......it's one game at a time like always just bring it & go from there =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>
Everybody b safe have fun with the "73" roller coaster :)

It would be nice to end the first trip through the east undefeated by beating Miami. I like Coach Miller's approach saying this game will not break either team if they lose. Beating the west is major because it wins the tie breaker because we only play them once during the regular season. With that said Go Falcons and beat the Miami.
