"Bowling Green State University has reached an agreement with Falcon softball coach Leigh Ross-Shaw on a five-year contract extension, BGSU Director of Athletics Paul Krebs has announced. The contract will run through June 30, 2009".
Great news. Coach Ross-Shaw has done a solid job. Winning the MAC Tourney Title last yr. In six seasons as the Falcons' head coach, Ross-Shaw has an overall record of 171-145-2 (.541), making her the winningest coach in school history. She ranks second in BG annals in winning percentage. In MAC games only, she is the school's all-time leader in victories and winning pct., with a league mark of 86-56 (.606) through the 2004 season.
She was the fastest coach in BG softball annals to get to 100 overall wins as well as to 50 MAC victories, and has become the only coach in school history with three 30-win seasons.
Congrats Coach and continued success!!!
Women's Soccer has been picked to finish 5th place tie in the MAC preseason poll. Nothing like adding more motivation to an already motivated program!!
Coach Richards is another excellent coach that has done solid work. The Falcons return 19 letterwinners, including 10 starters, from last year's squad. BGSU placed eighth in the final 2003 standings with a 5-5-2 MAC ledger, but advanced all the way to the championship match of the MAC Tournament. The Falcons finished with an overall mark of 8-12-3 last fall. BG opens the season on Friday, Aug. 27, hosting the Falcon Classic. BGSU will play Duquesne that afternoon, before hosting Pittsburgh two days later at Cochrane Field.
Watch out for BG!!
Our women's programs are really doing well these days.
GO FALCONS!!!!
