I will be making the short drive to Muncie from Indy. And then the longer drive up I-69 on Saturday. Anyone know how Curt's migraine is doing. I heard that he did not attend practice yesterday.

From John Wagner's Falcon Fodder blog:

UPDATE ON MILLER'S CONDITION
Curt MillerBowling Green coach Curt Miller, who wasn't feeling well following the Falcons' win over Eastern Michigan Sunday, was feeling "much better" Monday.
Miller was suffering from an "optical migrane" Sunday, and is expected to be with the team when it travels to Ball State for Wednesday's game.
NEW TUESDAY MORNING: Miller is not 100 percent, but he has returned to the Stroh Center and is at the team's practice.
NEW TUESDAY AFTERNOON: Miller was with the team when it left for Ball State Tuesday afternoon. In talking with him Tuesday afternoon, he admittd he wasn't 100 percent, but he is "more in tune" with his body and, if he doesn't feel quite right, won't push himself Wednesday.
"If I'm unable to perform my duties [as head coach] at Ball State, I know my staff is more than capable of leading the team," he said via phone Tuesday.

Just got to Muncie. Two hours before tip. Time to grab some food and watch another Falcon victory. Hope to catch the Men's feed from my phone on the MAC website.

YAY BG fans who went!
YAY Jessica's new game high!
YAY Falcons win!
For what it's worth, I thought the Ball State announcers did a fine job calling the game on the audio / video online feed. In addition to being professional all the way through, I think they were in awe of Slagle, at one time mentioning "acrobatic defense from Slagle" and later asking if there's anything Slagle couldn't do.

Complete agree about the announcers. They seemed very fair to both teams, giving credit where credit was due. Much better than constant whining about referees. I agreed with the announcers that Ball State fought hard and never gave up. It just seemed their youth got the best of them, whereas Slagle's veteran leadership let her virtually take over the game. Not only 22 points, but around 3 boards, 5 assists, 5 steals. She was everywhere and everywhere! She grew up a lot tonight and it was great to see someone take over when Lex is in foul trouble.
Great win BG!! Go Falcons!

MAC Women's Basketball Review: Curt Miller, Still The Best
by Matt Sussman on Jan 22, 2012 11:59 PM CST in MAC Basketball (W)
BOWLING GREEN 70, EASTERN MICHIGAN 54 — The game of the day, as evidenced by all the television cameras, turned out to be more of a rout. And if Curt Miller isn't the best human asset in Bowling Green athletics, I'm not sure who is. He's basically on the third iteration of this excellent program's identity and they are playing as if Kate Achter is passing it to Ali Mann and Liz Honegger. Only replace Achter with the gutty Jessica Slagle (eight points, six assists, six rebounds, three steals), Mann with the überproductive Alexis Rogers (30 points, nine rebound) and Chrissy Steffen as Honegger-type sharpshooter, sans her frame (11 points).
And this team remains the most powerful despite losing four of their top five scorers to graduation. It's not just Lauren Prochaska, one of BG's best. They also are without Tracy Pontius, Jen Uhl and Maggie Hennegan. That's 48.2 points a game, 20.2 rebounds, 8.7 assists, 4.3 steals and crucial members of the 45th best defense in the country (0.811 points per shot against) that they had to work into Miller's system with new regulars. I expected one season of hurt. Nope. They reloaded.
For Eastern Michigan, Tavelyn James got her points (29 in all) but the rest of her teammates were 8-of-34 from the field ... all on two-pointers.
So EMU falls to 4-2 in a tie for first in the MAC West while BGSU remains unblemished at 6-0. They'll falter at some point but for right now they're playing like the favorites ... again. And we doubted them.
