One game at a time...we still control our destiny for yet another regular season title.

BG trailing UB 35-32 with 18 min left. Could be the hangover factor tonight. Gotta find a way to dig deep and play hard.

Falcons pull ahead 41-37, 12 min left. Gonna be a war the rest of the game...

GO BG!!!

BG holds off a feisty UB squad, 62-52. Whew! tusn and EMU both rolled tonight so BG still has only a 1 game lead at 11-1, tsun and EMU at 10-2 MAC.

The Akron game scares the crap outta me. They have played BG very tough the last few games so we must be ready to roll. C u there...

TOGETHER WE ATTACK!!!

Freak I think you're right on point...for whatever reason the Zips have been a tough out for BG of late. At their place it will be a fight.

The other game to watch obviously is the Redhawks at home. The crazy thing is that any trip up could cost BG the #1 seed, and two could end up dumping the Falcons to 3rd...that's a scary thought. Obviously Toledo and Eastern Michigan have to play one another again, but getting the top seed requires no trip ups now. Not having to face both Toledo and EMU come MAC tournament time is big. I doubt that the #4 seeded team (probably going to be Miami) would be nearly as difficult to beat.

This game was hard to watch. So many turnovers, even more worrisome because so many were unforced. Got to clean it up and execute if we want to keep that number 1 seed.

But I can find some positive things from an ugly game. Nice to see Shanique getting some minutes - 5 boards, including 2 offensive, in just 4 minutes! Jasmine Matthews continues her lockdown defense, holding Hedderson to 6-23 shooting and... is it just me, or Jess Slagle's jumpers in the lane just so darn PRETTY to watch?

As an aside, I find it absolutely disgraceful that our dance team is allowed to wear belly button jewelry to the games. So very tacky and so very inappropriate for a school spirit group. In the FMB we weren't even allowed to have earrings. *end disgruntled alumnus rant*

The painful part of watching BG play is last year, when Lo shot the ball, she followed the shot. She got a lot of offensive boards because she followed. Our current players shoot the ball and run the other way. I wish someone would have the presence of mind to go after the ball!

I don't know about "pretty", but I think everything Jess does is like poetry in motion, including her ability to come out of seemingly nowhere to grab the ball, the look of joy she has about her when she's playing, or the look of determination.

Welcome to what I refer to as the sideshow - everything other than the main event on the court. I'm an older fogy myself, and while I agree with you I also understand that the fashions change with the times. There are plenty of moves which I think are inappropriate, reminding me of the scenes in CSI shows where the police have to go into "dance" clubs for information.

I do give them Kudos for so many of them (and the cheerleaders) singing the Alma Mater at the end of the game, even though I think the song itself is plenty hokey if not outdated.

I have an idea for a great sideshow. Put Dustin under the basket. Then have a lucky contestant go under the other basket. Give that lucky fan a chance to win season tickets. All he needs to do is hit an apple off of Dustin's head with an arrow. Hopefully he won't miss.

I'd prefer bringing out a falconer and having a peregrine falcon pry said apple from his head with its talons and/or beak, hopefully without clawing him in the face on the way by.

Better yet, a jousting match between Dustin and the tin soilders. BG did not play iys best ball the last few games. At least they have time to work out the kinks and get back on track. 12 more straight wins to a national title.
