EXCLAMATION POINT. DOMINATION.
If someone would say Halfhill would be our leading scorer and Hoekstra would outscore Slagle and Steffen. Wow.
49 bench points
16 three pointers
90% ft shooting
52% fg shooting
Everyone played at least 4 minutes. Great finish
MAC CHAMPS AND #1 SEED

A major congratulations is in order for this team and for the coaching staff, for making this happen despite such long odds at the start of the season. To rack up a 24-5 season and go 14-2 in the MAC and finish with the top record in the conference a year after losing Tracy Pontius, Jen Uhl, and Lauren Prochaska (there were others as well), that is simply a fantastic job. Curt should be in the running for National COY with a year like that. Jessica Slagle should receive her own award for her own metamorphesis this year. No longer the smiling backup with the baby face and the pencil thin arms when I met her on the court her freshman year...now a physical, fearless beast that shys away from nobody in the lane and leads her team with authority beyond the arc.
And then there's Alexis, who came in and changed the complexion of the team from day 1. And then of course the others all did their parts. It's just a shame that I wasn't able to see more games this year...this team has been so fun to follow this year.
Now on to Cleveland! Bring home the tournament title! Man, if we make the NCAA this year...I can't even wait to see what the Stroh is going to be like for the 1st round (and possibly 2nd round) games!

Three pointers tonight:
Alexis Rogers 2-2
Danielle Havel 2-2
Jasmine Matthews 2-6
Jesica Slagle 1-3
Deborah Hoekstra 2-5
Jillean Halfhill 3-5
Noelle Yoder 2-3
Simone Eli 1-1
Logan Pastor 1-2
DANG!!! NINE of our players hit three pointers!!!
Over HALF of our score from three point land.
And if that sounds good, you should have SEEN them!!!

Just happened to peek back in on the stream late in the second half when we took the shot that bounced off the rim, then rolled two or three times around before falling, then drilled two threes the next two times down. Those three trips apparently summed up our night shooting.
That kind of hot hands is almost enough to not want the bye rounds coming up! (Note, I said "almost"!!!

) I can't imagine what this team might be capable of with a week to prepare...
ROLL ALONG!!
