NCAA tickets sold out (for SUNDAY)

Sunday's tickets are sold out. Tuesday's tickets will become available soon.
Good showing of support by the area is good press for future host possibilities!

Arena is too small for this type of event. We will be lucky to host another one.

Because the seating capacity was a secret to the NCAA Committee? And they decided to sent Baylor, OSU and Florida to a "too small" arena?

Yea, why would they do such a stupid thing. OSU has a massive following in this area. They probably could have sold another 1500-2000 tickets at least. And Baylor - they can't be happy about having to come here to play in front of 3500 screaming OSU fans in a 4300 seat arena.

You say the seating is too small. Ok, then explain why last year when BG played Georgia Tech down in Columbus, and OSU played the 2nd game, why was the attendance only 3800. 4700 this weekend sounds bigger than 3800. If this game were played down in Columbus do you think they would draw more than 4700. I doubt it.
Stop being so negative. I for one would rather have a sold out 4700, over 1/4 full arena of 4000. If BG proves to sell out both dates, which I think they will, and do a top notch job of hosting the events with few complaints then maybe we will host future events.

OK, I hope I am wrong and your point is well taken. Maybe it is the potential match-up that sold it out early.

Re: NCAA tickets sold out (for SUNDAY)
I believe one of the biggest reasons for a sellout is that local fans bought a good chunk of of tickets up before the teams were even announced (about 1,500 was it?). Many thought our women would be there and many simply like women's basketball in general.
I can only imagine if our women were in place of Osu or Baylor - I believe that would have been the real draw.

I was one of the 1,000+ people. It was a good deal with season tickets, a chance to see BG play on their home court mayb & just a bball junkie.....like it in general....male/female.FalconTurf wrote:I believe one of the biggest reasons for a sellout is that local fans bought a good chunk of of tickets up before the teams were even announced (about 1,500 was it?). After sitting in many gyms watching top flight women's basketball with lots of empty seats
glad that our building is full to the brim & then some. standing room?
Late Sunday there may be lots of tickets available as the two defeated teams go home...so do lots of their fans.
Re: NCAA tickets sold out (for SUNDAY)
I doubt the California team or Florida bring many. So a OSU vs Baylor match up will have standing room fans.BGSUE wrote:I was one of the 1,000+ people. Let 'em stand, I got mine. I was lukewarm to see a MAC team if BG wasn't going, but Baylor and OSU? Go BAYLOR!!

Re: NCAA tickets sold out (for SUNDAY)
I know many BGSU students, faculty, staff, etc. that got free tickets are now trying to unload them because BGSU isn't one of the teams. I decided to wait to see if BGSU would make the tourney before I went and bought tickets. Glad I didn't get the tickets, because I have no desire to watch non-BGSU teams. I may be in the minority in that feeling, but I really don't wish to watch basketball just to watch. Just as I will not be watching March Madness...I'm not that into basketball unless it's a team I care about.
ROLL ALONG!!!
