The Falcons rolled to an easy win in an exhibition game vs. Slippery Rock (which seemed to find the ball very "slippery" I guess).
Only question I have is why Hoekstra and Matthews didn't play...everyone of the 10 players who DID play scored. Anyone know what the situation is with these two ladies?

In the post-game presser, Coach Roos said that both had injuries but neither had yet seen the team physician, so she could not identify the injuries. She said she anticipated they would only be out short-term.
It was nice to see all of the players get plenty of action today. With so many new faces, Coach got a chance to test out the rotations. It was pretty obvious from the game that we are super-heavy in wing players and pretty thin in the post (only 4 players in the post rotation!). But, those 4 post players destroyed the paint

Also, Salinas looks like a great pick-up for the team. She showed some maturity out there. 5 assists in this game on some great passes.

The story I got at the game, one directly and on indirectly is that Jasmine is released to play but did not. She's recovering from a foot injury (it was in a boot earlier) and Deb has Mono.
Papenfuss was a BEAST. I hope nobody sees the tapes or reads the stats of the game

She just took what they gave her, which was a drive to the basket and the top of the free throw line.
Lex has worked on her free throws and Halfhill looked comfortable at the point with Salinas to spell her. Wait until the poor girl experiences flatland winds in December....
Bailey looked good for a freshman. This team looks coachable, teachable, and may be fun to watch.

It looked like they've been practicing their quick pass plays, too. I think Coach Roos is correct in wanting them to improve their free throw percentage. Get fouled early and often, and then make those free throws.
