Disappointing... but like you said, not a surprise at all. Do we have any verbals for next year? The signing period is coming up...

Hopefully, we WILL have some signings in the early period...last I checked, the ladies have FOUR seniors who'll be leaving... lots of shoes to fill...we DO have a transfer from NC State that is sitting out this yr. per NCAA rules, but we'll need to fill some holes as Jennifer attempts to rebuild, not to mention RECRUIT against a certain coach from Indiana. ](/img/ayziggyzoomba/58/58/54314911ff35ed959956620e68458f73.gif)

Re: We lost another recruit...no big surprise.
I disagree that we are recruiting against Curt at IU. BG is in the MAC, IU is the the Big Ten. I am far more concerned about our recruiting when it comes to recuriting against our fellow MAC schools. I would be upset if we were losing this player to another MAC school. No one should be surprised that someone who had a verbal to BG when Curt was here would change and verbal to IU with him now there. Losing verbals to IU cause Curt is now there should end after this recruiting round because I doubt many current high school juniors have began to verbal commit just yet.Class of 61 wrote:Hopefully, we WILL have some signings in the early period...last I checked, the ladies have FOUR seniors who'll be leaving... lots of shoes to fill...we DO have a transfer from NC State that is sitting out this yr. per NCAA rules, but we'll need to fill some holes as Jennifer attempts to rebuild, not to mention RECRUIT against a certain coach from Indiana.

Article on Kirkpatrick said she'd verballed to Wisconsin-GB. Did she change from GB to BG?

I read an article (sorry, couldn't find it again) that said she originally committed to Green Bay. She reopened her recruitment when they had a coaching change. She subsequently visited BG and committed here.

I find it a tad odd that Roos is recruiting so many guards again. We have a bunch of soon to be Sr's at the 4 and 5 positions. I would think that we would be recruiting forwards and centers much more heavily this year.

Right now we have 3 verbals. Two of them are guards. We have as many as six scholarships we can give. I suspect we will see some more posts in this class. The early signing period begins on Wednesday November 14. Let's see who signs during this period. I trust Coach Roos and her staff. They will recruit the players they feel fit best within our system.Falconboy wrote:I find it a tad odd that Roos is recruiting so many guards again. Story in today's Toledo Blade about the three recruits.

And, it is not like we don't need guards...especially PG. Both PGs on the present roster are juniors.

All Right! The 6'2" kid from Ottoville (Putnam Co.) will be good for the fan base. She'll bring fans to the arena next year and I hope work into the starting lineup in 2 years.

I like the post player too. The write-up made her seem a bit like Jen Uhl - a 4 with a decent perimeter game. And I agree that post players will definitely be the need in the future, with all 4 post players graduating in the next 2 years. I'm not sure we really need the extra wing (in BG's system the 2 and the 3 seem nearly interchangeable) but I'm excited about the PG. She'll have a year behind the junior PG's to learn the system. Always better than throwing a freshman PG into the fire as a starter.
