Three sign their letters on intent today

I really like how different all three recruits look, and they all have put up great numbers in their respective positions. It's nice to see a true point guard, a true shooting guard, and a true center all coming in.

Three potential difference makers down the road. Siefker is a big player who moves pretty well. Don't see a lot of bball posts on the sprint relay team in track :) There will be an adjustment period, but excellent work ethic and a frame that can get bigger- as in stronger. PG received a lot of MAC etc interest- her stature is small. Heart is huge. Plus has played in big games and in a high level in AAU- and scored in addition to distributing. And the Kansas player could be very very good. When you beat many BCS schools and many top top mid majors, you usually have a potential real good one.
Add in Donovan who is a real ACC level athlete and I think that is quite a first recruiting class for Coach Roos. I think we have some assistants who can flat out recruit. Appears that way.

Go Falcons!

FF1,
Someone else posted recently that the women's team may have a few MORE scholarships to give...Can you enlighten us on that?
And FWIW, I can't STAND Black being subbed for Brown in our uni colors... If Adidas can't do it, let's go to someone who CAN! [-o<

61, the scholarship situation has a slot remaining and I am sure the staff is examining all options involving individual student-athletes, position needs, balance in classes and so on.

I think we are adding four quality student-athletes in Coach Roos' first year. That is good.

I want uniforms in three colors in every sport if available- orange/white, orange/brown, and orange/orange.

Go Falcons!

I think there is more than 1 still available. The roster only has 13 (counting Erica Donavan, the transfer). We are losing 4 seniors. If I recall correctly, womens BB can have 15 scholarships, so that means they could potentially add 3 (in addition to the 3 just signed) for next year. Now, of course, Coach Roos might decide to hold 1 or more of those for another year.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

According to what I know we do have 3 potential scholaships available. The limit for women's basketball is 15 while the men can have only 13. There might be players who will wait until the spring signing period. We also have room for transfers.

Our post recruit Abby Siefker of Ottoville got off to a great start in her first two tip off tourney games. Totaled 26 in easy win over Van Wert making 11 of 13 from the field and 4 for 4 at the foul line. Followed that up with 11 in the championship game when Crestview slowed the game down to try to defeat the Big Green by limiting possessions. Crestview took only 20 shots but only lost by four so the strategy almost worked. Crestview has a familiar name on the roster- Lindsay Motycka. Siefker's team should be one of the better small school teams in the state. They return a number of good players and they have six players on the varsity roster listed between 5'10 and 6'2.

Yes that Motycka just so happens to be Jackie's niece! Same high school. I'm a graduate of Convoy Crestview.
Ahhh Jackie Motycka--a MAC and BG Legend!
Her niece is getting better and better. Also, for Coach Roos....Crestview has a sensational fresh phenom... 5'10 all around player in Emily Bauer that will need a BG file....some have mentioned that Crestview has not had a better freshman since Jackie Motycka was there.
