Interesting....
No comments about the Temple game twelve hours later.
1. We looked ragged. Not hustling, out of breath. Physically not into the game.
2. Mentally, not into the game. At one point, a player lost the ball between her legs. She looked up and just stood there as the Temple players were swarming for the ball. Coming out of a timeout, we had the ball with one second remaining on the shot clock and we didn't execute a play (not exactly sure what we were doing)
3. No more three point attempts. We were 5 of 22 last night.
--Madonna 6 of 24
--Niagara 6 of 15
--Purdue 4 of 15
--Villanova 6 of 20
--UNLV 12 of 31
--Temple 5 of 22
For the season we are 39 of 127 (.307 average)
4. Falcon Fanatics - nice job last night. Loved the singing as the opponents were taking foul shots.
5. Ali Mann. I think old #22 wanted to suit up last night. She came onto the floor during warmups with that intense look. She had the intense look throughout the game. I miss that intensity on the court.
No need to look back. Lets look forward to Colorado State on Saturday afternoon.

Re: Interesting....
I give a lot of credit to Temple, who did a great job both on offense and defending. They brought a physical game and BG couldn't match it. Also Temple had a distinct size advantage on our players. That #25 had her way with Rogers 1-on-1, and made a lot of difficult shots.
When the shots aren't falling from the arc, someone has to take it to the hole. Halfhill is doing a great job making those drives and some difficult shots, but she can't do it alone. I'd like to see our younger wings driving more. But, it's still early. I think this team will start clicking soon!

Let's face it...we've been totally SPOILED over the past 8-9 yrs. And seeing a team struggle like this is NOT what we're used to seeing...We need some leadership from the Seniors, who've been thru all the "highs" before, but very few of the "lows".

I thought Jillian barrelled her way through the lane pretty good there at times.ccollin13 wrote: When the shots aren't falling from the arc, someone has to take it to the hole. Halfhill is doing a great job making those drives and some difficult shots, but she can't do it alone.
And Dennis, you're right. We have become very spoiled with what we have had in the past.

Re: Interesting....
Yes we are struggling with our 3 point shooting right now. BG had a lot of open shots, just didn"t make a lot of them. Yes we have been spoiled. This non conference schedule is the most difficult in the 12 years Coach Roos has been here. These games will prepare us for the MAC schedule. That is what is important. As long as we are playing our best ball during the conference season, then these games served their purpose. I have full confidence in the coaching staff and the players. They will turn it around and we will see the BG we all know and love.
Re: Interesting....
Yeah, I think we've been spoiled. I also think we'll turn it around. Just need some time for some new leaders to develop and for Coach Roos to get comfortable. That doesn't mean we can't have a meaningful discussion about the low points and what BG can improve on.

Considering the fact that Colo. colors are BLACK and GOLD, this probably wouldn't be the best idea any way. And, as one of the self described "old folks", You're darn right I'd complain. Said it more than a few times...If Adidas doesn't want to provide us with our BROWN colors, switch suppliers...think they want to lose business, even from us?threestooges wrote:I hope they wear them on Saturday, just to hear the old folks complain. I guess I'm really out of touch this year with sports in general. Last year I pretty much knew when all the games were. This year I'm so crazily busy I can't keep up.
Got the next couple in the calendar! Hopefully I'll keep up to date now!

It would be a problem. But since they are playing Colorado State, which has green and gold colors, and not the University of Colorado Boulder, then maybe.Class of 61 wrote:Considering the fact that Colo. colors are BLACK and GOLD, this probably wouldn't be the best idea any way. Doesn't everyone have alternate uniforms nowadays? As long as it's not a permanent change, so be it.

My bad...thought someone mentioned they were playing Colo. Buffs , not Colo.ST. (I DO know the difference, with a son living outside of Vail for past 15 yrs.)AyZiggy97 wrote:It would be a problem.
