At BGSU women's basketball, we don't rebuild, we reload.
Graduations? No biggie.
Coaching changes? Pssh.
Brand spanking new arena to play in? That's how we roll.
This win today was so impressive. Dayton was a perfect 12-0 entering today's game. They had already beaten four teams in the top 40 of the RPI in Depaul, Vanderbilt, Toledo, and Michigan State. According to realtimerpi.com their RPI ranking was 5th best in the nation. Should we have another year where we end up going something like 27-4 or 26-5, this is the type of eye-popping win on the resume that could have the tournament committee looking seriously at us when seeding and/or deciding who's in/out.
9-3 so far this year and getting better with each game. Gonna be a fun ride through the conference slate. Of the other MAC teams, only Toledo has a better record at 11-1, and only two other teams, Akron 8-4, and Miami 7-5, are over .500.
TOGETHER WE ATTACK!!

I was VERY impressed with our effort on defense. Lex shut down the passing lanes into the post, and we were very good at getting hands on the ball. The women played disciplined ball, and managed to score against a very athletic Dayton squad. Dayton has a tremendous team this year, and I am ecstatic that we were able to take it to them at home.

It was impressive.
It was exciting.
It was WONDERFUL.
It was - scratch that - It IS BGSU Women's Basketball.
I'm very happy for the team and feel very fortunate to have been there to see the fantastic defense throughout and the shooting keep improving through out the game.

Don't know if any of you listened to Coach Roos postgame, but it's obvious that her enthusiasm and fire helps this team immensely...established players who were struggling early seem to have gotten themselves back together.
Funniest part of her talk was re: the "day off" she gave them as a reward....but they'll know they have a "tough practice" on NY Day to make up for it... sound just a "little bit" like Curt?

Nice to see our RPI 33, and SOS much better this year. Of our 3 losses each of those teams have a RPI of 40 or better so those are quality losses.
Toledo has RPI of 22 and CMU 40. We beat those two teams and we will get more quality wins. And we play both UT and CMU at home. A 27-5 year this year would get us dancing due to more quality wins, better SOS. Hope Dayton and Villanova continue to have steller seasons. That will only help our resume.

Only fault with your reasoning is that we've already LOST 3 games...so you're projecting us to lose only TWO more the rest of the season? I'm hopefuly, but that's a tall order.

61, only dropping two more games would seem like a tall order, but history and the current statistics both say its not. Consider the following:
1.Bowling Green has won at least 13 games in conference every single year since 2004-05. This goes for years in which the conference is good, and years in which it hasn't been.
2.BGSU has finished as the conference's #1 seed every year since 2004-05 with the exception of 2010-11, that year they were the #2 seed behind Toledo but won the MAC tournament anyway.
3.Of BG's 3 defeats so far, two of them were against teams inside the top 20 of the RPI. Purdue's RPI is 14, Villanova's is 17. Temple's is 76, so I'm not sure you can even call that a "bad" loss, which I would define for any team outside of the RPI top 100. Of the remaining teams on our schedule, only Toledo (RPI 20) and CMU (RPI 41) are of the caliber of the teams we've lost to so far. The next closest team is Akron (RPI 117). The East Division is horrible this year, with the aforementioned Akron along with Miami (RPI 154) being ranked inside the top 290!! of the RPI. The games against Ohio, Buffalo, Kent State, Ball State, and Western Michigan are absolute gimmes, short of us having an apocalyptically bad night.
