BG up 36-28 at the half. Steffen and Rogers combined for 20 pts
A win tonight would put BG in a first place tie in the East.

Wasn't the prettiest game but BG hangs on for the win.
BG now in a 3 way tie for first.

I wasn't quite sure what to make of this game because both teams were 5-3 in the MAC, but Bowling Green was in the top 100 of the RPI and beaten some really good teams already, while Buffalo was 200+ in the RPI and beaten no one. Clearly the talent and coaching disparity isn't what the rankings would make them out to be, but good on the Falcons to get a victory here.
With the way the MAC tournament is set up these days, you basically need to finish top 4 in the conference regular season or you have no shot whatsoever of winning the tournament. 5 games within the span of a week is murderous. CMU nearly pulled it off last year but it caught up with them when it counted most.
Perhaps the shocker of the night is Ball State beating Central Michigan. Ball State is now 8-1 in MAC play, their only defeat coming against BG.

I kept an eye on the game in the second half and didn't see Alexis Rogers on the floor much, if at all, in the last ten minutes. There are times frequently when the play of Jill Stein and Allison Papenfuss really scares me. But the shooters on the club come through more often than not.

Does anyone know if Lex Rodgers is ok? She left the game last night with a bad bloody nose after getting an elbow and did not play again. Falcon fans send best wishes, Lex!

According to Greg Christopher (the newest edition of "Ask the AD"), Lex suffered a broken nose last night.

I was pretty sure that was what happened since she did not return to the game.
Hope it is not too bad and will not need surgery. Some players are not too hindered by wearing a mask, but others are. I am hoping for the best for Lex!

I saw her briefly after the game last night. She had some stitches on the bridge of her nose. The doctor at Buffalo said he thought it was broken but she needed to have it looked at when she go back to BG. She wasn't real happy that the doctor told Coach Roos it might be broken and she shouldn't play anymore in the game.

Watch out for #22 - she has a mean right hook.
