I'm with you, 24. Even if my gut says Toledo (and Naama) deserve to be in, my heart is still bitter about 2009. And they may be granting me a degree in 6 weeks, but I still can't cheer for UTtransfer2BGSU wrote:Prepare to laugh.bgsufalcon24 wrote:I will laugh my azz off if Toledo is left out of the NCAA's with 28 wins, a la BGSU in 2009.
UT will be left out while an undeserving OSU will get in (because they're hosting the 1st and 2nd rounds).
FWIW, Charlie Creme's latest bracketology has Toledo out and Akron a 15 seed playing Penn State. http://espn.go.com/ncw/bracketologybgsufalcon24 wrote:Most of the reaction on rebkell seems to be indecisive. I get the feel that many of the posters there are pulling for UT to get in, but aren't sure if they will make it or not. Will be interesting to see the bracket come out on Monday. Another thing to watch is where Toledo is seeded if they make it.
I think Toledo would probably be an 11 or 12, CMU a 12 or 13 if they win today. Akron would probably be a 14 if they win.
Well, go ahead and rip up that bracket...CMU's going dancing.ccollin13 wrote:FWIW, Charlie Creme's latest bracketology has Toledo out and Akron a 15 seed playing Penn State. http://espn.go.com/ncw/bracketologybgsufalcon24 wrote:Most of the reaction on rebkell seems to be indecisive. I think they can do it. They DEFINITELY have a better chance than Akron would have, or even Bowling Green, to be honest.bgsufalcon24 wrote:Well, go ahead and rip up that bracket...CMU's going dancing.ccollin13 wrote:FWIW, Charlie Creme's latest bracketology has Toledo out and Akron a 15 seed playing Penn State. http://espn.go.com/ncw/bracketologybgsufalcon24 wrote:Most of the reaction on rebkell seems to be indecisive. Did he really think Akron was going to beat CMU? He must've put Akron in just because they were the lower number seed in the MAC tournament.
EDIT: Ccollin, what is your take as far as whether CMU might be able to win a game or two in the tournament. They have a rather physical style of play that is unlike most MAC squads, which would seem to benefit them in a situation where they'll be facing teams that are generally bigger and stronger than most MAC opposition. To me they'll have to do 2 things well...1.score, and 2.keep their composure. I'm not sure they'll be able to do both.
All the projections I am seeing are saying no way OSU gets in. Just because they are hosting the first and second rounds doesn't mean they automtically get in unless they are deserving. Which they aren't. Projections have the #1 seed Notre Dame being sent to Columbus for attendance purposes. Just like last year when the committee sent Baylor to BG. UT probably doesn't get in. They are in the same situation we were in 2009. Great record but in a mid-major conference. They would have had a stronger case if they would have lost in the finals. Their strength of schedule is really bad this year. Not all of their fault, as some of the teams they played are most years pretty good, not this year though. I think Charlie Creme of ESPN has Toledo as the 68th team. Not enough spots for them to get in.transfer2BGSU wrote:Prepare to laugh.bgsufalcon24 wrote:I will laugh my azz off if Toledo is left out of the NCAA's with 28 wins, a la BGSU in 2009.
