No NCAA bid for Toledo

No NCAA invite for UT. Sounds familiar to BG 4 years ago with the exact same record. I knew their chance was done early on when Green Bay at 29-2 was an 11 s
CMU #11 seed and plays Oklahoma

Also of note, the power conferences got all the At Large Bids with the exception of Dayton. No mid major got an at large bid.

They didn't deserve a bid this year...

Not that I'm making excuses for Toledo, but I will never, ever see how a 17-13 team like Kansas, a team that didn't even finish .500 in their own conference, deserves inclusion over ANY team that is 28-3. That's bullsh*t.

Kansas was 18-13. And they played 8 ranked teams and beat 2 of them. And the ranked teams they played included 2 against Baylor which nobody beats.
Toledo has to start scheduling some tough road games and win a few of them if they want to get some consideration.

OSU did not get an NCAA bid and declined a WNIT bid.

Curt should have waited a year......OSU has a lot more $$$$ than Indiana!
Foster's contracts ran thru 2017-18, so if they can buy him out they have a LOT more than Indiana!

I meant to ask about this earlier because I know it seemed like every year he was on the hot seat and Curt's name was always mentioned for the job if it happened. Now that its official I wonder if OSU will target Cullop from Toledo

Good. They deserved neither this year.

Oh wow...I'm SO impressed with a 2-6 record against the top 25. No way Toledo or even BG could manage that this year.
Seriously, if that's the best argument there is for keeping Toledo out, that's lame. The bottom line is, and we all know this to be true at BGSU because it is the same for us...NOBODY in the power 6 conferences wants to play a top team from the MAC. It is extremely difficult to schedule those teams. Really the scheme for the BCS schools is to make sure they only play each other, or against bad teams out of conference so the top tier mid majors don't get a shot at them. They have nothing to gain by playing those games. A loss hurts their record and their RPI.
So at the end of the day, the big name schools hide behind "oh look at how good our SOS is", and the committee just laps it up like the dogs they are. It's total crap.

It's the same on the men's side as well. The commentators always say the committee takes into consideration where games are played so the big schools don't get an advantage. I had always heard that in basketball the home court is worth around 10 points. Playing the majority of your non-conference games at home is a huge advantage and I doubt the committee gives it enough consideration. No surprise the OSU women's team turned down a WNIT offer. It would have been beneath them.

I find it interesting how different the men's and women's committee treated the mid-majors this year. They got all the breaks on the men's side and none on the ladies side.
