BG Athletic Department just announced BG women have accpeted a bid to the 2013 WNIT. Match-ups and sites will be announced around midnight tonight.
Love postseason basketball.

5 MAC teams announced as part of WNIT 64 team field. BG, Akron, Toledo, Ball State and Miami.

BG plays Thursday, 3/21 at BG versus SMU. Winner plays the winner of Akron/Duquesne.

Interesting in that Southern Methodist has to travel a far ways to play at BG, normally the 1st round contests are between teams that are somewhat geographically close to one another. We must have one of the odd matchups of the bunch that doesn't really work out that way.
The MAC continues to get absolutely no respect from the NCAA committee, but the WNIT committee has taken notice. 5 teams in has to be a record.

Hopefully the MAC can make some noise in the WNIT! GO FALCONS!!! If we beat SMU, we could play Akron....
