To me this is more of a shocker then Bob Lindsay being fired. Has Miami had things going on like Kent did that led to Lindsay's removal?

She did just have the most successful player in Miami history and won had no NCAA bids or MAC titles. In fact, they didn't even have a MAC East title. All year, fans on their web site commented on her abilty to recruit, but also her lack of coaching to get their team to stop making turnovers. Let's let Coach Roos pick her assistant that she is confortable with.
Looking forward to the women's basketball banquet next week. Thanks for a great season!

I think this has been coming for some time. She was never able to get Miami over the hump. She had some wins but could never get Miami to the promise land...MAC East Titles, MAC Championship, NCAA Tourney bid.
At the MAC Tournament, I used to see her get so mad when Curt and BG were doing their thing the last 10 years. I think she thought Curt was egotistical and that BG thought they were better than anyone else. Of course we were. We had the swagger and could back it up and she didn't care for that.
BG probably had a lot to do with this firing since we set a expectation that Miami and Mary were never able to live up to.

Can anyone ever live up to the standard set by Coach Miller and Co.? I have tremendous respect for Coach Roos, and she has my total confidence as the right leader for our program. But I don't think it's realistic to hold anyone to winning 8 consecutive titles again... I mean, what other MAC program has won 8 consecutive titles in ANY sport? I think there are too many strong programs now for one to jump to the top of the heap and stay there like we have... Between Sue Guevara, Coach Roos, and Coach Cullop, I just don't see any one of them dominating the others.

What's Bob Lindsay doing these days? He'd make an interesting assistant.

Actually, BG set the bar starting with Fran Voll, except for the bump that was Dee Knoblauch.
Bob Lindsay shows up on Twitter from time to time. I think he went to Boston to follow his beloved Red Sox last summer and I haven't been on Twitter much to see his Tweets.

I'm not trying to Rain anybody's Parade, But Maria did Win a MAC Regular Season Championship in the 2003-2004 Season, Advanced onto the WNIT that Season. Eastern Michigan Won the MAC Tournament, thus the NCAA Tournament. Also Won Two (2) East Division MAC Crowns 2002-2003 and 2003-2004.
Maria Did take Miami to the Promised Land, The NCAA Women's Tournament by Winning the MAC Tournament in 2008 over Ohio University, but Lost in the First Round to Louisville.

I am aware of her early success. The fact remains that she had the best player in school history in Courtney Osborn and with a good supporting cast won nothing in those four seasons despite being picked to win the east at least the east the last two years.

Sports has become a what have you done for me lately business. Everything you listed is impressive, but look at the years, the most recent event was in 2008. Its 2013 now, Miami was clearly looking at the what have you done for me lately, and like Hockey John said with the best player in school history the last four years and a good supporting cast all they could muster is some WNIT apperances
