BG goes wire to wire never trailing and beats the Buckeyes 64-52. BG women hit 12 three point shots. 6-1 on the young season.

Great team win for the Falcons. Balanced scoring, bench scoring, and 57.1% from the arc add up to a winning formula.
Congrats Falcons!

Excellent crowd support for BG in Columbus. Post game, Jillian Halfhill and Coach Roos acknowledged our fans in the press conference. And, as always in those environments, the team as a group thanked/waved to all the fans post game. They do that in every key contest win or lose. Classy.
OSU has a lot of good skilled players and some serious size. As in 6'5" and wide, 6'6" and long and 6'3" and wider. That is what makes the following stat amazing: OSU scored EIGHT 2 point field goals in 40 minutes. Eight. And only 12 field goals total. That is good fundamental defense, hard work and a lot of hustle.
Our three point shooting won us the game offensively; D Hoekstra and Miriam Justinger were very good. Justinger is just flat out a basketball player. But we also made several big shots inside the arc. Two memorable shots came in the second half from Jasmine Matthews and Jill Stein. Stein made a combo finger roll/baby hook that looked like a WNBA highlight play. Halfhill had one of her driving bank shots at just the right time.
With only 12 FG's you might wonder how BG led by just a handful w 7 to go? OSU shot 26 foul shots. And made 24. In the run of play prior to their two late fouls to get the ball back, BG was 3 for 5. You would expect a disparity for two reasons. A bigger OSU team and, in a couple spots, a more athletic OSU would draw more fouls. They did. And they were playing at home. And they were. The only call that really really hurt BG was Erica Donovan's fifth which was a joke. The OSU player literally pushed Erica off w arm and shoulder to create space and......
If you look at just scoring, you might think that Donovan and Alexis Rogers had very average or subpar games on points. But they played valiantly and hard every minute they were out there. No way we win without those two.
I very much enjoyed that last win against OSU in my freshman year 1975.
We should do this a little more often. And it can happen more often when recruits see it happen the way it happened today. Tremendous effort by all. Pure joy.
Go Falcons!

As folks have indicated, this was a really good team win. Maybe we could get OSU to come up to the Stroh and play sometime. (I am not holding my breath) Looking forward to seeing how this team grows. Need a bit more help from the freshmen. I think that will come though.

I was glad to see BG get the win, because as someone who also follows the OSU women, I know that starting next season, the talent level on OSU is going to grow exponentially under Coach McGuff. He just signed a top 5 class after Coach Foster didn't bring in even one recruit for this season, and the recruiting for the past couple years has been really bad.
I'd like to see BG continue to play OSU on a regular basis, and I'd love to see them get OSU up to the Stroh or at least get four in-state teams, including OSU and BG to someplace like Nationwide Arena for a holiday tournament if they want to go to a neutral site.
