Looks like the Polar Vortex is over the MACC center. BG up 20-13 but the shooting is icy.

just arrived back in BG after game at Kent
After no practices except shoot-around earlier Thursday& enduring 3 days level 3 snow emergency I think the team did pretty well
Yes it was ugly but being cooped up & unable to run, shoot or work on plays they dug deep and won VERY Physical
at least one point more than opponent always
Hoping everyone found their way home safely snow, fog and crazy drivers on turnpike

Congrats Ladies on another win! Keep them coming!!! 2-0 in the MAC!
Side note: Wow.... how far has Kent State fallen... the AD is eating crow on firing Bob Lindsay...

Sadly, this mess is part of why Lindsay was fired. He forgot to recruit.

RE: the ladies.....looked like their legs weren't under them, especially while shooting 3's (20% for game?)... probably due to not being able to practice much over past 3-4 days.
And while KSU is NOT a good looking team, they DO look better than in the past few yrs. Have a kid who shot the lights out from 3pt. land, though not getting many chances due to our D....

Went to the Kent/BG women's game Thursday nite. Had the chance to see some of the worst officiating in the past 20 years. Kent is a helter-skelter type of team--quickness is just about their only asset. Officials Angie Enlund, Linda Miles, J.B. DeRosa were completely befuddled. Some may say play was "physical", I say every Kent player fouls on every possession. The most dogged was #3 Larissa Lurken, who tried to put her body on the BG player she was guarding, and at the end of the play, give the BG player a little arm punch, or body bump or arm scrape. Called for one personal foul.
Why is the MidAm refereeing so bad?

I agree that Kent was fouling most plays
officiating bad because league has decided to play games a lot on Thursdays & Sundays
the b10 also plays on same days, pays more so veteran officials take those games first
the crew from Thursday scared me more than the weather
hurt bodies could come from all the "mug" fouls uncalled when it's to be" move your feet" defense hands/body off
must play over situation hope everyone stays healthy and just keep moving forward
