12 noon start on Time Warner
must put together two halves of making shots 2,3 and foul
defend keep them off foul line and get to ours
rebound on both ends of floor
contain their scorers may not stop them but try to limit their touches
imo this could be a slow methodical game where we run the offense as long as possible
Women YOUCAN!!!!!! have fun be safe

This is a monstrously important game, and the toughest that BG will face in conference this season. If the Falcons come out of Mount Pleasant with a victory, its going to really help lift our overall resume, not to mention put us in sole possession of 1st place in the MAC.
Big Game! Go Falcons!

Anyone know how the game came out? I got onto WBGU and they were closing down the broadcast, didn't mention any final score or stats. (To be fair, I was REALLY late hooking up).

Never mind about the score...I checked out the CMU website....BG had an 8pt lead at the half...CMU took it into OT, and outscored the Falcons 12-9..... final? CMU-82-BG-79.... not shocked, though disappointed losing a lead, not that it was that big a lead with 20 min. to play.

P.S. - Can anyone figure out why my info seems to print out at the end of the screen while I'm typing this?

Game was on Time Warner BG. We had about a 10 point lead with 3-4 min to go and basically threw it away. Missed. 5 straight free throws down the stretch, and had no idea how to handle their full court pressure the last 4-5 minutes. Had 27 (twenty seven) turnovers for the game. CMU played with much more energy and emotion the last 10 minutes of the game. Very disappointing even though CMU is a very good team.

Very disappointed to read that they had that lead and couldn't close the game out. No excuse for missing free throws in that situation, and I'm sure the players and coach would agree. They just gave in to the pressure.
BG could have taken control of the MAC with a win in this game. Again, very disappointing.

I was there
Yes it's disappointing but it's just one game
They must come to us next month
We learned things about them & ourselves
Missing foul shots is a problem but it can be fixed
Handling the press can be fixed
they are the quickest team in the MAC like to "cherry-pick", trap and push the rules
two halves 2 different ways of calling game very frustrating for player and fan
players we talked with said anyone can beat anyone else on any day Thank you Curt......everyone got better
We played 3 games in 7 days with 2 being long road trips after not practicing before the Kent game due to the weather
truth
players are tired it showed today when Jaz missed her 2nd foul shot, she looked over at Jennifer like what just happened, she's usually "money"
on to the next game Thursday with EMU in Stroh
one game at a time
not too high not too low

Please go to BGSUFalcons.com
Listen to interviews with Jennifer and Lex attached to the game summary
This should help you see their perspective of this game played by 18-21 year olds
Thanks

I was there also and the missed free throws hurt, but CMU missed a lot too. Once the momentum swung, the crowd really got into it. People on this board seem to minimize the affect a crowd can have, but I have no doubt BG would have settled down to stop the CMU run if it was at Stroh. That's not to give them a free pass for Sat. But I viewed it as a strike of lightning, a perfect storm, whatever you like.

I agree totally. It was disappointing to lose a late lead, but I actually feel better about our team than I did before yesterday's game. I was expecting a double-digit loss, and I was very encouraged by the way the team played for most -- most -- of the game. It was frustrating to be so close to winning & not get it done, but I am really looking forward to the rematch at the Stroh next month. Also, I don't think Central is focused or disciplined enough to play hard for 40 (or 45) minutes every game. I'm sure they'll still win the West, but I think they will suffer a few losses (including one to BG in the rematch). Long term, I just hope BGSU can get enough wins to finish as the second or third seed (or first, if CMU stumbles). I think this BG team has the talent and work ethic to get to a MAC Tournament final against CMU, and I'll take my chances with the Falcons if we get there. I know we have many, many games before then, but I felt good about the Falcons before last week's games (Akron, Ball State, CMU), and I feel even better about them now.

They had a small but very vocal student section that was waving around giant Sue Guevara head posters and hanging around the BG bench during timeouts. Sue was right about the officiating...during the last couple minutes we drove the lane, got hacked and didn't see the call when the present standard for calling fouls is basically a raised eyebrow directed at the offensive player. One of the 27 turnovers late in the game was clearly off the CMU player and was attributed to us. Miller gets credited with forcing the conference to enhance their commitment to women's basketball and rightfully so, but I much prefered the time when we just destroyed everybody.
Bradford is an outstanding player, but the TV crew spent about 75% of the broadcast talking about her as if she was Cheryl Miller, Rebecca Lobo and Candice Parker morphed into one.

As far as measurables go, this outcome didn't really hurt BG. We're still standing 44th in the nation in RPI. We have a solid record, a solid RPI number, and all of our losses have come against teams in the top 50 of the RPI, one of whom is in the top 10. We've got some decent victories as well, 3 wins against teams in the top 65 of the RPI. Really the only thing that hurts us is the strength of schedule, but even that isn't as bad a number as it usually is at this time of the year.
The ladies just need to shake this one off and move forward. Rebkell at the moment has BGSU in the field as one of the last 4 at-large teams, since they're giving CMU the auto bid at the moment. We just need to focus and not trip up against one of the inferior teams within the MAC.

DVR'ed the game and watched everything until under 1 minute remaining in regulation when the DVR quit recording.

So after not reading the website and spending 90 minutes watching the game, I had to go to Twitter to see the final results. Disappointing to say the least but hey - it was only one game.
I see we get CMU back in the Stroh again on February 19. From what I could tell on the television, once CMU got their run going with a little more than a minute remaining in the game, the crowd got back into the game. We did a great job of keeping the crowd out for 38+ minutes. Get them in the Stroh Center and that could have changed.
We beat'em last year in the Stroh (whooped'em). Need to do that again on February 19.
Until then, we need to beat Eastern Michigan!

I wasn't disappointed so much that we lost, but how we lost, basically losing our composure and not having a clue how to handle their pressure at the end. We are a junior and senior dominated team and that should not happen.
