Miller's starting point guard last year and an all-freshman player, still lead the team with 11.8 point average, Larryn Brooks has left the team. http://www.idsnews.com/article/2015/03/ ... ast-3-days" target="_blank

Could we get and would we want any of these players? We'd get 2, 2 and 3 years from them, but have to wait a year.

I thought I saw The Blade's James Wagner tweet something openly asking if something might be afoot with one of these players. But he didn't have anything solid, and he might have just been speculating. It's interesting to think about.

This team is going to compete for a title next year. A transfer could put us over the top.

Only problem with your reasoning....a transfer has to sit out a year. #-o

During the Miller - Roos era, we have been very successful at bringing transfers to the program. Several of the transfers have been more athletic than our usual recruits. (ie: Donovan, Rogers, Havel, Nurse, Hennegan to name a few of the top of my head) It would be nice to add some depth and athleticism to the team even if they do have to sit out. I am now living in Tallahassee, Florida and Florida State's women's team has six (6) transfers this year including last years Jr. College player of the year. They are presently 29-4 and finished 2nd in the ACC behind Notre Dame. I think that if everyone comes back strong from injury, especially Donovan and Siefker, we can once again compete in the MAC. We lack the athleticism to do much more without an influx of talent at this point. Hopefully, the experience and minutes required this year will help the Freshmen and Sophmores from this years team to improve more quickly than they normally would.

Oops. Yes, you are correct.

I'm sure the coaches have contacted these players. Some of them may have been recruited by BG before Curt left. Who knows what they each want in a school? Sure couldn't hurt. Yes we have had success with transfers. Maybe some more will be in our future. We do have scholarships available if we want to use them. Let's wait and see what happens.

Of the 3, I think Taylor Agler is the most likely candidate. She's from the Columbus area (Olentangy Orange HIgh School). She's the daughter of WNBA coach Brian Agler (LA Sparks, previously Seattle Storm for many years). Agler and Miller have always had a close connection - Agler brought Prochaska to the Storm training camp, and I believe has also has worked with Miller's teams before. I also think their connection was the reason Taylor came to IU in the first place. In the WNBA circuit, rumor has it that Miller is a candidate for an assistant coach job with Agler with the Sparks. So, there's still a connection there and Miller would probably be very happy to recommend to Taylor to check out Coach Roos.

As far as Taylor herself, sounds like she's leaving because her playing time significantly diminished, and the new coach's system isn't her style. At BGSU, she could come back to the old Miller-style pick-and-roll and obviously become a starter. Would love to have someone of her caliber in our system.

Agler will play for Texas Tech, where Brandi Poole is an assistant.

In the meantime, the IU body count is now up to 4, as transfer player Liz Stratman is leaving before ever playing a game. She sat out the 2014-2015 season after transferring from Butler.
